Wow! Great footage! Man I'll tell ya', he was fantastic right up until his last note on stage! It's really sad he inherited that disease his mom and other family members had. Among other illnesses, the one that got him, I forget the name of it? But his mom, and quite a few people on his mom's side all passed away from it between the ages of 40 and 50. Elvis sure did pack alot of entertainment in those 22 years! All that music and all those movies in just a 20 year career Amazing! Thanks!
@Fogslifted Elvis' disease was abusing prescription drugs. That's what got him. His mom died of heart failure and most of that was attributed to being overweight. Don't get me wrong....I am a big Elvis fan and always have been. But, facts are facts and Elvis was no different from any other regular man with the same abuses.
@LT1HILLINGHOE Being a big EP fan, you should know that what "allegedly" killed the King was gastrointestinal tract blockages with heart failure (cardiac arythma) which was contributed from being overweight. Fogslifted wasn't exactly wrong.. I'm not taking away from the fact that he had a pill problem, but that's not what made the man supposedly drop dead in the upstairs master bath at the Graceland Mansion on 8/16/77
@bakerflight Pills being abused for years and years is what killed Elvis on 8/16/77. Nicopolus faked what killed Elvis to try and save himself. But it wasn't the doctor's fault anyhow...it was Elvis' fault. No one forced him to take the prescription drugs. If his doctor wouldn't give him what he wanted Elvis would have bought a drug store. Elvis was great, but he had his demons just like any other person has.
awesome performance. only a couple months before the concerts performed for the CBS Special, and he looks and sounds so good. This should be his legacy.
Am so proud to be able to say that I saw Elvis at this concert when I was six years old. My Grandmother and great aunt took me to see him while visiting from Houston. Sweet, sweet people...all three of them. All three are missed dearly!!
Thanks for posting this show! I was there at the age of 16 and audio taped the show on a cheap cassette recorder. Do you have more footage? I remember this was the last show I saw and it was a great one. This is the show tha Elvis did the last performance of "An American Trilogy" and he goofed it up near the end. He stopped and picked back up a finished it like a real pro. Amazing show!
How powerful. Love this footage.
