Even without money, there would still be competition over wealth/prosperity. And we can compete without physical violence. And even then, it boils down to our beliefs. They can think whatever they want about the universe, other than a God resides over it. If you were to adapt a world view with Atheist qualities, it would not be the same as Atheism. It would be a belief system just as wrong as any Theist view out there today. All Atheists do not share the same beliefs. Most simply base theirs on science and reasoning.

I'm a Catholic so I obviously have a bit of trouble standing up for Richard Dawkins but I don't see how you can say science is his "God." Dawkins believes in what has been proven to him. Yes he does have very strong beliefs and he fights for what he believes is right. I would even go so far as to agree with the "crusade" statement but to say he's a fundamentalist is a bit misleading.

I would rather live in a world with many different religions and world views, than one of a single world view / religion. Yes that includes atheism. Anytime too many people agree on something, it seems to be what erodes freedom. I'm sure atheism wouldn't be immune to human nature, if enough of the world became atheist. At some point you'll pick up extremists, regardless if you agree with them.

They can think whatever they want about the universe, other than a God resides over it. If you were to adapt a world view with Atheist qualities, it would not be the same as Atheism. It would be a belief system just as wrong as any Theist view out there today. All Atheists do not share the same beliefs. Most simply base theirs on science and reasoning.

This man calls himself an atheist and does not even realise that he does worship a god. Science is his God and he is just as fundamentalist about his beliefs and willing those beliefs on others.
Stop your crusade and do some useful science.

I'm a Catholic so I obviously have a bit of trouble standing up for Richard Dawkins but I don't see how you can say science is his "God." Dawkins believes in what has been proven to him. Yes he does have very strong beliefs and he fights for what he believes is right. I would even go so far as to agree with the "crusade" statement but to say he's a fundamentalist is a bit misleading.

I think you are one of those people that is a catholic in name only. You have no idea what faith is do you? You only see and believe in the material world like Dawkins.
There are 2 deaths man experiences. The death of his mortal body and the death of his soul. This man may not kill the mortal man but he is certainly on a crusade to destroy as many souls as possible. Hence the crusade he is on does indeed make him as dangerous or more dangerous than other fundamentalists.

@ms767210 Actually you couldn't be more wrong. I'm a very strong practicing Catholic. I believe in God, the immortal soul, heaven, hell Jesus & have frequently been mocked for my beliefs. I believe he is only dangerous to people who's faith is already weak & are bad people without it. I don't think you need to believe in God to get into heaven. I think good atheists get into heaven too. Dawkins challenges people & makes them think about their faith. I know my faith is much stronger for it.

That is where you and I differ. God made the earth for man not heaven. Not too many people are qualified to enter heaven. And if you knew your bible you would know that number. But then you come from a religion that believes the dead perform miracles don't you? And that is why you are so easily deceived by Dawkins.

What religion are you? If you don't mind me asking. I hate this "my religion is better than yours" attitude that so many people seem to have. Let's face it, none of us can prove anything to anyone else. We have no solid, replicable evidence so to say something like "you come from a religion that believes the dead performs miracles don't you? And that is why you are so easily deceived by Dawkins." just comes across as pretentious. Yes maybe my religion is wrong but maybe yours is too.

I will never understand how some people can see no wonder in science. Regardless of whether there is a God or not science is still am amazing, beautiful thing. It covers things measured in billions of light years to quarks & strings or space atoms. If that isn't wondrous I don't know what is. You may say "but God created all that so it's God that is wondrous" & I would agree with you but it's still science as well.
