  • I love ubuntu

  • this is not 10.04!

  • this isn't ubuntu 10.04 lts

  • Lucid Lynx is a BIG improvement on Karmic Koala

Its more stable and handles graphics alot more efficiently

  • hey wat wud this program do to ur computer?

  • no vales tu ni tu video. It doesn't worth

  • The new version of this is amazing, it boots in half a second, with another half a second to go from login screen to desktop. Although it lost it's nice black and white starting logo, I'm not complaining.

  • Horrors! It is not in the same class as the old one. -- Tiny bullets on top left of screen, no Gimp or replacement, Upgrade from 9.10 no good; it lost EVERYTHING. It will take me months to get system back to where it was. -- They have convinced me: Get Virtual Box & have a good look at things before deciding. -- 9.10 has a much more instinctive feel & looks better. If they can take such a giant leap backwards, it is time to look at other distros. -- This is unbelievably bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • why would anybody want to use this.

  • @Altaire7 cuz windows and macs are s**t.

  • @Altaire7

LOL..dont u know this world is litter with Linux server...

If u want ur computer infected with bunch of rubbish/virus..go use windose

    So..use ur brain please...

  • why is it free

  • @lamont7710 its free because its under a GNU licence. anything under a GNU licence has to be open source and free.

  • -"This looks exactly the same!"

    -"Shhh! You'll wake the umu!"

  • who cares about looks, install compiz and have some fun =)

  • what's new in that beta version ?

  • this is not ubuntu 10.04, it´s 9.10 vertion...lol

  • as long as its not a blue screen i'll watch

  • Last version Ubuntu Netbook Remix 10.04 LTS Beta 1 you can download here: downdl [.] com/Operating-Sistems/ubuntu-netbook-remix-1004-lts-beta-1.html

  • i just hope gaming will get a big foot in ubuntu/linux soon. mostly the only reason why i dont use ubuntu. i like the UI in ubuntu. would rather have it if all games worked or atleast close to all. and to be able to use 100% off my hardware´s power..

  • I suppose all that blank screen time was to give an idea as to the boot time (I'm just guessing) but it was a bit awkward to watch. Looking forward to the 10.04 release!

  • Heres a tip: Learn to edit; nobody wants to stare at a black screen, regardless of the point youre trying to make.If there was a point to be made that is.

  • I love to stare at black screens and white screens too!!

  • Agree.

  • cool

  • It's looks like Ubuntu 9.10

  • sux right

  • @MriBackup yeah because it's still alpha lol

  • its alpha one

  • its whats under the hood that counts ;)

  • @Daro161995 yes, no much difference its going to final release 29 april 2010 i think i will wait for 10.10.

  • Its still under development. When it releases, it will have lots of fixed stuff. Can't wait! :)

  • WOW!!!

A SYSTEM THAT COMES WITH A CALCULATOR!!

Seriously, I wouldn't even call that a first look.

I'd rather say "Making ripples on the LCD screen while stuff happens in the background".

It says about as much on the system as all of these "Look at my compiz configuration" videos that starts to get quite invasive...

  • disgusting look

  • this shows nothing

  • @D00d777D00d that's right but, as DistroTV said '' This is the alpha version. For more important changes in user interface we will waiting until March 4th 2010''

    :)

  • I thought GIMP wasn't being included in 10.04, so how come it is in the version shown?

  • The booting speed for a live CD is dependant on the speed of your CD drive to start with...

  • I actually have yesterday's daily build installed and it gets to the log on screen (and I'm not joking) in less than 5 seconds!

  • right now, it really looks like karmic! :] but I'm sure it will be different when it actually comes out.

  • This is only an alpha version and it is a live cd that is slow, be patient tre or four month for a very new version.

    Roberto from italy

  • For every one that says this is a slow Boot it running from the Live CD and for others saying it looks the same in the first 2/3 alpha's of any Ubuntu they tend to work on back end stuff first

  • 1 min? That's really fast for an Alpha. My 9.10 starts up to the password page in 35 seconds.

  • I like Ubuntu Linux! :)

  • I'm sorry, this looks near exactly like the prior 2 versions of Ubuntu. Correct me if I'm mistaken please. I realize this is just an Alpha stage right now.

  • This is the alpha version. For more important changes in user interface we will waiting until March 4th 2010

. Do not install Ubuntu alpha version on production computers.

  • @stmpoodle Alpha 1 has only been worked on for 35 dayes, and it's just 20 dayes after the meating about what should be changed, so right now it's basicaly just 9.10, copied to the 10.04 folder with a couple of updates applied.

The first few alpha version of vista looked very similar to xp, so there could still be big changes, though ubuntu has a much shorter cycle then windows did ;)
