i heard that 7.62x25 Tokarev ammo is hard to come by in some places , nice video , i like all these gun videos you put up because they are much more intresting guns , unlike 99% of channels that shoot just glocks n shit
@DrakeGmbH Well, absolutly correct na me is "Pistole vzor 52". They were not produced in Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod(CZ-UB), but in Zbrojovka Strakonice.
@Gangster88232 I know it was made in Strakonice, but if memory serves the company was still Česká Zbrojovka. I left out the city name. I believe the CZ name has been used since the early 1920's at the Strakonice factory.
@ZiaUrRehmanFarooqi Actually it is not the name of the gun. CZ stands for Česká Zbrojovka which means Czech Armory. The Army named it Pistol Vz 52, where Vz stand for vzor which means model. The name Pistol Vz 52 is used by military only.
I put near 100 rounds through my buddies CZ-52 and while it was a fun gun to shoot, the accuracy is appalling. Ammo is dirt cheap for it though so with enough practice one may get good at shooting it.
@esh325 The Vz.52's roller locked barrel is a very unique design but the awkward safety and stiff trigger due to the firing pin block and small sights hamper this pistol's accuracy and handling. I don't mind the heel magazine release as I've got more than a few pistols that have one. The Vz.52 has better machining but the TT-33 tends to be more accurate in my experience. Neither fit the hand all that well due to the grip angle but the Vz.52's grip is a bit larger than the TT's.
@wedvarn Very different weapons. I have a Vz.50 as well. It's a much smaller pistol in .32 ACP with an unlocked blowback action, double action trigger and thumb magazine release. The Vz.52's 7.62 Tokarev cartridge is much more powerful necessitating a locked breech system. The Vz.52 is also single action only and has a heel magazine release. Given the power and range of the cartridge the Vz.52 is superior as a military weapon.
@DrakeGmbH As a military weapon, possibly. You cant argue opinion with opinion. I just prefer the feel of the 50. Its more comfortable to shoot. Recoil is minimal. Remember i just shoot it. I'm not fighting a war. Great video though, You should make a video of the Vz.50. There only three or four here on youtube that ive seen. And being a subscriber to your channel i think it would be convenient.
@wedvarn You can certainly argue with an opinion, that's all YouTube seems to be about. Anyhow - I've got a Vz.50 and had a Vz.70 before it. A bit heavier and cheaper built than the Walther PP and less reliable in my experience. My other .32's are much more tolerant of ammunition variations than the Vz.50. I've also seen quite a few Vz.50's - mine included - with galling on the underside of the slide where it pushes the hammer back during recoil. Mine works well with round nose FMJ .32's.
@wedvarn I like the Vz.50 much better than my previous Vz.70. The 70's are reported to have harder slides to correct the galling issue but the quality of finish is far below the earlier guns and the feel of the earlier grips is more to my liking.
That aside the pocket pistols have been on my 'to-do' list for quite a while but I just haven't had the time in many months to mess with videos.
@DrakeGmbH An argument? Im not here for that. I would call this an informative exchange of information. I dont experiment with much ammo in the 50. Standard FMJ is all ive used in it and it works just fine. I would never use the 50 for concealed carry though. Just too heavy to serve that purpose. For me anyhow.
@wedvarn The argument bit was just an allusion to most of the 'conversations' I've had on YouTube - nothing directed toward you.
I found out about my Vz50's picky eating habits by chance. All I had on hand was truncated cone FMJ's when I bought it and it choked on them. I've made the pistol more reliable by replacing the magazine springs, recoil spring, extractor spring and the ejector/slide lock. It works very well with round nose FMJ but is still iffy with blunt nosed bullets.
@DrakeGmbH Yes, there are some impossible people here on youtube. I didnt have to replace anything except the firing pin. It lacked one for some reason. But other than that it appeared to be in almost brand new condition. Not even any holster ware. But if the integrity of the pistol declines youve given me some good places to start. Much obliged.
@ChromeGhost0219 The grip angle is a bit awkward and the grip is long and narrow. Not the most ergonomic gun on the market but you get used to it after you've shot a magazine or two.
@XR4turbo I find if I let my finger get too low on the trigger I start getting pinched between the trigger guard and the tip of the trigger. I had the same problem with my Mauser HSc's in .380 but not the .32 model.
@DrakeGmbH lol ok so if there was a burglar in your house what gun would you use to defend yourself? xD sorry it was a just a random question i was thinking about.
@weerd2normal Roller-locked action. Not related to the Makarov at all. The Vz.52 was the Czech answer to the TT33 while the Vz.82 was the Czech answer to the PM Makarov.
For owners of this weapon, is this a gun you would trust your life to? As in a good self defense weapon. The HP 7.62X25 looks like a great SD round but how reliable is the weapon?
I just bought one of these, all matching, 1954 dated, good firing pin, looks to have been fired very little and handled little as well, no rust, no pitting, little wear etc, just a few dings on the grips and some very minor dark spots in the bore. $215.
Not a bad price these days, they haven't quite gone through the roof yet. I bought mine in 2006, I believe I paid about $175 for it. It came with the usual holster, cleaning rod and two magazines.
I replaced the grip panels as they were quite dinged up and installed a Harrington Products firing pin.
The gray phosphate is the original finish, blued finishes are arsenal refurbished guns. Worn parts and barrels were replaced, the guns reblued and reissued or packed away in storage.
where can i find quality parts for this gun? i would like to replace the recoil spring on my CZ-52 but i cant find any gun shops online that sell anything CZ that far back. my local gun-shop has tons of Mil surplus ammo, but no parts for this particular gun. any advice would be great... thanks
Yes, I have a Romanian TTC. I have a video uploaded of thus pistol as well. Personally, I like the TT better as it has better sights, thumb magazine release, better trigger and a more comfortable grip. The CZ grip is very thin for the length which feels a bit awkward, like gripping a remote control. Thicker grip panels would likely help. The CZ does have a good safety and a decocker (even if the decocker isn't trustworty!). TT's were designed with no safety aside from a half cock notch.
i like this gun.i like his design, it looked more modern for his time.like a makarov but much bigger

Yeah, I need to get a new firing pin for mine, even if the original appears to be in perfect condition.
Any idea where to get holsters by the way? They seem a little pricey on Gunbroker. Mine didn't come with one unfortunately.
mugofdoom 2 years ago
I checked a couple of my regular sources for milsurp extras-
Numrich has holsters and cleaning rods for $13.
Buymilsurp has accessory kits for $29 - holster, lanyard and cleaning rod.
DrakeGmbH 2 years ago
Thanks, I'll look into that.
One last thing, mine has a blued finish instead of the usual grey phosphate type finish, is this a characteristic of earlier models or what?
mugofdoom 2 years ago
The gray phosphate is the original finish, blued finishes are arsenal refurbished guns. Worn parts and barrels were replaced, the guns reblued and reissued or packed away in storage.

Ah, that would explain the "OZ 76" stamped on the side, didn't look like an original stamping. Thanks.

Take a look at Numrich (google e-Gunparts). Look under the CZ section, '52 Pistol'. Many parts can be found here.
A good source for springs is Wolff (google Wolff Gunsprings). They carry four different weights of recoil springs for the CZ Vz.52.
Feel free to send me a message if you have more specific questions.
