@lmphk If you haven't yet and are a fan, I'd suggest you play them because the ones you missed just happen to have the most story. X4 establishes Zero's origin and that Mavericks aren't always labeled because they are Maverick. This then ties in with X8's New Gens being able to rebel without the virus.
All of that then ties in to the Zero series where robots and humans reach a breaking point until the end of the Zero series. ZX and Legends show the better world that resulted.

Canonically, Repliforce was originally an ally of the Maverick Hunters. XTreme2 takes place between X3 and X4. (XTreme takes place between X2 and X3)
Iris initially filled the role that Alya does later on in the series.
Initially, the AI that comprises Colonel and Iris were meant to form one reploid, but the combative Colonel AI and the peace-loving AI that became Iris were incompatible in one body. Iris, falling in love with Zero, helps the maverick hunters directly.
The Events of Mega Man Xtreme 1 and 2 took place after Mega Man X3 and Before Mega Man X4, at least that's what I've heard, hope this clears this up for you :).

I've always seen 2 faces in Sigma's second form. The first is obvious with the black eye, black nose, and the mouth with the lips hanging down showing the teeth, but then if you look lower and at those same teeth, those become eyes, then there is a silver pointy nose, and below that looks like flat teeth and below that is the knee that is raised slightly and looks like a really sharp tooth. That second face was what I noticed first about him, not the actual face. :P

If memory serves, it depends on the character who beats the Maverick. If X deals the finishing blow, he gets the weapon and vice versa. I'm not completely reliant on my memory about this, but that's what I'd say.
actually is more similar to the used in x7, if one of them dies, you lose a life, and you have to start again from your last save point, instead of keep figthing with the survival character (like in x8)

No, I didn't cheat, I don't remember exactly how you could get the health amounts the same, but I think you first have to beat X and Zero Missions in the same save file to have the effects remain in Extreme mode.

Then one day he says "Ohh I was on my way to return your game but I got jumped by 3 kids and stoled your game from me" I was so pissed and he let me have his game. It's been some time so I don't exactly remember, but I think you need to beat the game's both X and Zero missions, the main menu should now have Extreme Mode unlocked, play the game through once more and this should be the final boss.
Well, I don't think the difficulty changes too drastically, only that you have all 8 mavericks to beat and some other changes, also you can't share the obtained weapons with X and Zero, only one of them can have it.
he has it. the Xtreme Games are famous for this... when you collect armor parts, they dont appear on X untill you get the full armor, then it switches to the fully armored sprite. so even if your missing just one part, X will still be "normal X" in appearance although he still gets the abilities.
Of course! I remember now (yes i do own this game). What got me is he was fighting sigma and he didn't bother getting all of the armor peices. I try to find every powerup available before the boss.
I don't think this really fits in the Canon. Zero meet Iris in X4 and she dies in that same game. So unless they're both happening at the same time I don't think it's really possible.
also, all because it came after doesnt mean it cant exist before. think of the star wars prequells. they came out recently whereas the originals came way before.
this IS between X3 and X4. the same way that Xtreme 1 is between X2 and X3, and so is the Megamission Manga.
The first form is just shooting him and dodging his attacks. The second form requires other means though. When Sigma has a gold or blue color, use X to hit him, if Sigma has a red color, attack him by using Zero. I advise you to fill up all of your sub-tanks before the fight. Try your best and you will eventually beat him.
Sigma second form's charge attacks can be blocked by X or Zero depending on its colour. Just keep on hitting his barrier thing will push him back. However getting the timing right for Zero is not so easy.
I remember fighting this when I first played ths game; kept on dying because I didn't know about colour changes...
i had the same problem at the begining too =P i just kept attacking him with x cause i though zero's attack werent doing anything. now ive seen both work depending on his color so im using both against him.
u know u can just stay there and attack instead of jumping it heals u when u defeat his first form. Id like to see someone beat it with just zero still. It is not possible until someone proves it.
It is possible. you just need to practice a lot. Since zero is my favorite character i played with him a lot so if you try it a few time you should be able to do it. by the way, why dont x has all his part?
Same. I don't find his helmet particularly useful so I skip that to allow 4 parts on him. Dunno why they deliberately reduce the number to 2 after he's been fully armoured.

The armor does not show up on X's sprite unless he has ALL the parts. If you are missing parts, they dont show on X, but he still uses their moves.

he has it. the Xtreme Games are famous for this... when you collect armor parts, they dont appear on X untill you get the full armor, then it switches to the fully armored sprite. so even if your missing just one part, X will still be "normal X" in appearance although he still gets the abilities.

Of course! I remember now (yes i do own this game). What got me is he was fighting sigma and he didn't bother getting all of the armor peices. I try to find every powerup available before the boss.

But if you do that, you can't use the REAL ULTIMATE BUSTER. Which lets you spam charge shots like mad.

REAL ultimate Buster. I do have the Ultimate Buster, and I do get to rapidfire chargeshots, what do you mean you csn't get it with every powerup?

Okay, with every armour part, you only have two slots available instead of four. That would have to be used on the Ultimate Buster and the Speed Shot.
Without every armour part, you have four slots. Those other two slots can be used for Buster+ parts, which increase your buster damage.
In short, you miss three points of damage every shot if you get the full armour set.

Yeah, suppose it is a bit of a toss-up.
And of course you turn on Rapid Fire in the options. Speed Shot lets you get another shot on screen, though.

I don't think this really fits in the Canon. Zero meet Iris in X4 and she dies in that same game. So unless they're both happening at the same time I don't think it's really possible.

release wise, it came after X4. however, storywise, it IS between X3 and X4. that was where Zero first met Iris. so chronologically, it is before X4.

also, all because it came after doesnt mean it cant exist before. think of the star wars prequells. they came out recently whereas the originals came way before.
this IS between X3 and X4. the same way that Xtreme 1 is between X2 and X3, and so is the Megamission Manga.

Yes, it is. Both of the Megaman Xtreme games for the Gameboy Color were basically just remakes of Megaman X1 and X2, with some added stuff.

Hm, just beaten him, and shield dash can be dodged by attacking him (hard to do with Zero, you have to attack him a lot). I still can`t dodge laser.

I`m trying to beat his 2nd form. Doen anybody know how to evade that attack when he dashes with green shield and comes back (2:12).
His laser attack seems impossible to dodge w/o taking a hit as well. Now I regret collecting helmet upgrade...

The first form is just shooting him and dodging his attacks. The second form requires other means though. When Sigma has a gold or blue color, use X to hit him, if Sigma has a red color, attack him by using Zero. I advise you to fill up all of your sub-tanks before the fight. Try your best and you will eventually beat him.

Sigma second form's charge attacks can be blocked by X or Zero depending on its colour. Just keep on hitting his barrier thing will push him back. However getting the timing right for Zero is not so easy.
I remember fighting this when I first played ths game; kept on dying because I didn't know about colour changes...

i had the same problem at the begining too =P i just kept attacking him with x cause i though zero's attack werent doing anything. now ive seen both work depending on his color so im using both against him.

u know u can just stay there and attack instead of jumping it heals u when u defeat his first form. Id like to see someone beat it with just zero still. It is not possible until someone proves it.

It is possible. you just need to practice a lot. Since zero is my favorite character i played with him a lot so if you try it a few time you should be able to do it. by the way, why dont x has all his part?

X doesn't have all his parts so that I could make the extremely powerful X-buster to work. If you get the helmet part, you won't be able to do it.

Same. I don't find his helmet particularly useful so I skip that to allow 4 parts on him. Dunno why they deliberately reduce the number to 2 after he's been fully armoured.
