Awesome find and awesome performance. I did some digging in case you are interested. This trick is from the March, 1949 issue of The Linking Ring on page 59. It's really just one application of George Warren Pughe's card control which is found on page 58.

Chris Brown goes into detail and enables you to unlock the moves full potential. I have found many, many uses for the sleight in my magic. Buy it. audience management is 1 of the biggest and hardest things anybody will ever learn in performing card tricks! but there are some people who just really want to ruin the tricks mostly i do very well with all kinds of people :)

@TheElvisBurger Dealing with Hecklers and audience management is very different! And there are good books on both! But the only real way to be able to do both is to get out there and practise. BBQ parties, going on the street, in a restaurant, at school or work, these are all good places to practise both! My dad is a massive heckler so i am quite good at controlling them :p
