If your looking for a workout buddy at the gym id recomend getting the ipod nano, cause you can get the nike + ipod kit which tells you how far youve run, how long youv been running for and you can store more songs, easier playlist functions, and you can race other people from across the world. I use it a lot definatly worth the money if your willing to spend a little extra

uhh lol following the trends of the other products. have you heard about the nano they have like 8 colours.

Also there is a dongle what will let you use other head phones and the shuffle was designed for joggers so this doesn't matter. A lot of companies are making 3rd party headphones

1- VoiceOver is cool but unnecessary.

2- I hate Apple's earphones, with my 2nd Generation Shuffle, I can use my favorate earphones which easily fit in my ears, not keep slipping out.

3- Sometimes when I go back to my room, I like to play my music on my stereo system, I just plug the stereo wire into my ipod's headphone port & play, but with this new 1, I cant change/play any songs coz only the earphones do that, so I'd have to stick with their earphones my whole life lol !!

I prefer the 2G shuffle but maybe apple see that some people will like the new design but others will like the old therefore they still sell both, same with the macbooks, personally, I like the new macbooks. Apple will probably gradually phase out the old products, this is probably a better idea because they leave the older products but give the option for both if that's what people want.

Apple left out the idea of a user- friendly product when creating the new ipod shuffle. It is way to complicated. The idea of it being super small is great, but they didn't need to sacrifice the simplicity of the controls.

ipod shuffles are meant for people who work out/run/skate/any thing that has to do with flexing your body in weird positions. the reason its so small is so it doesn't pinch your legs when you raise them. the reason it has the voice is so you dont have to guess what song your listening to cause theres no screen. and last of all. the buttons are on the head phone thing for two reasons. 1. to reduce the size of the actual music device and 2. to put the buttons on a more convenient location. think

If you really think apple offers the older models because they aren't confident in the new stuff, your completely daft! They still offer them because they know there are some people who would still prefer the older designs (like you apparently...) and the cheaper price tag. Although I like the new design, I do feel a bit disappointed about about the lack of buttons on the device. I also agree that being restrcited to using one kind of headphones let's it down a bit.

I'm just amazed how Apple made it so small, though, yet can still hold a good number of songs. I think it would make a good birthday present for someone, despite one or two problems.
