excellent work. this truck is truly a beauty. and ive always enjoyed the sounds of those CCC's.
At 4:11, all i could hear was the driver yelling "hey, hey" or something. what was he saying? i bet he got mad cause you were filming to close. suks to deal with drivers like that.
No @ 4:11 he was saying 'Alright!' as in 'Alright now you got that [hopper shot] and you gotta be satisfied completely, won't you leave now?' as a hint for me to leave I guess...thanks for watching/commenting! He was an ok driver, just didn't want the camera around...
Guess he doesn't understand the historical significance of your video. It always sucks when drivers aren't happy about being filmed, guess they are just uneasy about the whole camera thing. I wish it was just easier to explain that you are more interested in the truck and not their job performance. Great video, 5* and Fav!
IDK if Rainbow used these or Maxons when they had by-hand. They both look alike. Overall, I give this video 5 stars and a spot in my "Rare Finds" playlist. I would have featured it but the new channel layout makes it impossible.
Yeah I guess but the single axle MSLs looked like the Maxon from your WOF Monday Series from last year.
But I guess they were Amreps after all seeing as Rainbow usually buys CCC and Amreps. I don't think they use Detroit Diesel anymore, only CNG and some other kind of diesel.
Well the single axle one in the Monday series was a ShuPack, this one's obviously Amrep. My guess would be that Rainbow had Amreps throughout their history (since they buy mostly them for commercial, some residential). And no, from the vids I've seen it looks like most if not all their trucks don't have Detroits today....
Rainbow did have Amrep barn door MSL's like this one. Truck number 79. 80, 81, 82, 83, 84 (I believe) were of this type. I remember following them around before I started getting into getting these things on video. Just for the record, they were powered by Detroit Diesel and those older trucks were EXTREMELY LOUD!
It's nice to BE back...different place on the Wed. route. EDCO Bridgeport ASL does trash and 209 does recyc. I think the normal greens for this place is 64, I'll confirm that eventually...
So I guess these MSLs dominated trash routes before ASL back then? But it's still good to see this 1 holding its own on yard waste runs now! That Cat 3208 V8 mid diesel must consume a lot of fuel running that fast packer at every stop! I guess the Cummins B series would consume less! But anyway, I'm glad these old MSLs are still running in your area, hope they maintain these well! Great Stuff, 5*!
"Why don't you go film one of those other trucks over there?" haha "Sorry buddy, been there and done that!"
So this would be that very, very ancient truck I read about. Looks good for its age, kept in good condition by what I just saw. Pretty small truck too, kinda cute hehe I guess you requested the cycles at the end hey? =] All these EDCO (ones with the same paint scheme) really hold some cool trucks. Nice footage, I see you got as much as you could out of the drivers view - sneaky! :P
YEAH lol those shots were my blind-shot just in case ones that turned out to be very useful LOL!!
Yeah of course I wanted to say, "Well, being that I can see those any day, that this truck's a GOOD 20-25 yrs. old, and that it's probably the last of it's kind anywhere, uhhmmm, that's gonna have to be a no"
Nice good to see old trucks in use Nice video

at least he allowed you to film. other drivers wouldnt even let you take out your camera
trashmaster818 2 years ago
Well it's because I began by taking shots from the opposite side of the truck/his blind spots lol, and they ended up making up most of this video lol

Thanks! Yeah they do a pretty good job. I think this truck operates halfway as a spare and halfway as a regular route truck.
