@tatetalk Well, you can actually drive and fire a tank at the same time irl aswell. Ofc, that doesnt mean that they do it. Tank crewmen are tought to always stop to fire and then move cause otherwise its pretty much impossible to hit. Try running while aiming and shooting with a normal rifle, not very easy. So yeah, its ofc realistic that they can drive and shoot but that dont mean that you should :P

@tatetalk common mistake that people make is that tanks couldn't fire and move. all german tanks had the ability to fire and move at, "fire speed", or half speed. could still fire at full speed but you're not going to hit much that way. by 1944 if you had to stop in the open to fire you were dead meat.

I'm unsure if some Tiger IIs had 128's but it I think E-100 vs IS-7 would be the way to go.

Put up a T-34 against a tiger and you'll get the snot kicked out of you any day (unless the tiger driver is a 10 y/o without hands or eyes). I really dont know "the stats" of the real tanks exept that both the tiger and IS were classed as heavy and the T 34 as medium. the IS-2 is many times refered to as the Tiger's russian equality aswell :) I also looked up the Tiger II, it had a 88 mm like the Tiger 1

@Ultimatepanzer Although even though the Tiger II had in fact the same 88 cannon while the Russian had 128. The Tiger II's cannon tube was alot longer then the Tiger 1 which gave it a much higher muzzle velocity and also, atleast in theory, a more accurate shot. So in short, the Tiger II could pretty much destroy any of the allied tanks but it lacked in other areas like maintanance and mobility. Something that the T-34 among others used :)

@pepparmostheelder King Tiger not only had a longer barrel than the 88 L/56 of the Tiger 1, but a longer shell casing for more powder. The longer barrel isnt what gave the 88 L/71 the higher velocity, it was the more powder.

That said, the Tiger 1's L/56 88 was more than adaquate to take out any allied tank at long range, to the last day of the war.

ohh man i remember how much fun i had playing this game online! i remember 1 time me and a buddy in a tiger on the battle of kursk map i think killed like 30+ tanks! although the tank was destroyed like my friend coldunt move the tank because the tracks were destroyed and basically the tank was almost destroyed! man i dont know how many rounds just bounced off the tiger! we must have stayed at 1 place for like 30 minutes the ammo was almost out if only if we had another 30 minutes=[

But a different sort of skills. when you talk to a player that does play MW2 the only skill they know of is the ability to aim, maybe doing a headshot while performing a backflip, in their world that would "PWN" whatever the feck that means. In Darkest Hour theres a whole new set of skills required, which in turn, 15 year old players cannot achieve, and just end up quitting. Im actually happy they don't, if you ever seen MW2 community, you'll understand.

Britain tanks can set the distance just like Germans'.

BTW, that was the best kill ratio of any fully operational tank during WWII, except for the King Tiger which was 8 to 1.

I never said strong armour, and its armour was quite easily penetrated by AT guns and later models of allied armour, the crew being well trained and experienced doesnt mean the tank is good. Its like if there was a good driver in a bad car, still doesnt make the car any better. Also, I said the gun could outrange most allied tanks "early in the war" later the allies. Fighting against inferior tanks does not mean it has good armour. The Tiger was very vulnerable for many reasons.

Actualy the allies main gun didnt work for shit on the tiger unless they got a lucky rear shot it would most likely bounce off. The brits added a bigger gun for this reason which was called the firefly and that one could take a tiger out alot easier.

Tiger turret speed and reload speed is well accelerated vs. RO:OST. Was this a change you added or what Darkest Hour will give us? If so, DH better give us a lot of Shermans and instant respawn. Even though its accurate where we lost 3 Shermans for every 1 Tiger with the fourth got him...it isn't going to make for fun gameplay! 3LW

The German tanks in the stock RO are a travesty. The AB mod fixed all that, and the DH mod incorporates an even better AB as standard. I don't know how the Allies got their tank crews to fight. This video is an accurate example how German technology bent Allied tanks over and screwed them in the rear. If I was an American or British tank crewmen in Normandy, I would try to get a transfer or get injured. Call me a coward but it would be the smart thing to do. Villers-Bocage and Barkmanns Corner are good examples too.

First off, they had conviction, secondly, most Allied tankers NEVER saw a German tank. I know someone who fought through Italy and France and he said his unit never once came across a German tank.

You have to remember that the Allies outproduced the Germans significantly, and that the Germans had only a fraction of those tanks remaining when the western Allies invaded France. There was literally 20 Allied tanks for every German tank, and so about 14 of 20 tanks never fought another tank.
