  • best block ever!!

  • tay is the man

  • This team held 5 straight opponents under 70 points... Think about it!

  • no way we were about to lose to the pacers

  • prince did the same thing to iverson the year before to save the game in the playoffs

  • Reggie Miller: what a little bitch.

  • i want ben wallaces hat

  • ONE OF THE MOMENTS OF HISTORY

  • REMEMBER THE NAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TPrince22fan exactly

  • the inventor of the chasedown

  • i wish they interviewed reggie and tay about this

  • i love the change of the music when tayshaun blocks him

  • im surprised miller didnt start a second pistons/pacers brawl!

  • miller was a little off during his last two years...wasn't himself

  • that's what happens when you can't dunk

  • @reverbphantom actually reggie can dunk but he was cruising cuz he didnt know that tay was behind so its actually what happens when you dont dunk

  • man the piston were the greatest team back then

now look at them billups got traded, sheeds and ben are now gone, prince is a free agent and will most likey move on, and then Rip whos not happy and will most likey to be traded

  • @RaymondvRaymond24 we still have ben wallace, man, and joe D will re-sign tay, and rodney stuckey and will bynum are prospects, plus we just drafted brandon knight and kyle singler 2 of the best college players this year and even tho ben gordon will probably leave because of them we have charlie v too things have been down for ths pistons the last few years but trust me im a diehard pistons fan this team WILL start to slowly return to the campionship team in 04-05'

  • look at Reggie flailing around afterward like the little bitch he is!

  • Tayshaun prince invented the chase down.

  • The Pacers' and fans reaction reminds me of the alley oop scene in Semi-Pro:

    "Foul. No two fouls."

    "Foul!!! I didn't touch anybody!"

"Look people just can't go flying in the air like that"

    "I'll burn your house down!"

  • chasedown!

  • THE BEST BLOCK OF THE NBA HISTORY...

  • Reggie thought it was sweet as hell. lol

  • Reggie traveled anyway, hahaha

  • haha i love all the fans complaining for a call even though there was no possible cal to make...i know that feeling when a play that unbelievable happens against ur team u just think there must have been some way that shouldnt count

  • One of the greatest blocks ever. It's definitely up there along with Big Ben's takedown on Shaq, Jordan's block/steal off of Ron Mercer, and of course Wilt Chamberlain rejecting Kareem's sky hook.

  • 3 people are pacers fans..

  • that block summarized what the championship Pistons are all about

  • memories..I was in 8th grade rockin my Billups Jersey. What a great game

  • Oh yeah, i remember when the pistons were good.

  • even Lebron couldnt do this! Detroit all day..

  • Nothing fancy about prince, Just a straight up baller.

  • Must've been good defense from both teams if the score was 69-67

  • @wcmaster26 or awfull offense lol

    nah u were right! :)

  • i think if i dunked it, and prince contacted him he would have got fouled

  • Reggie u shoulda dunked that

  • pacers forever

  • @9577frasier but rip hamilton shut down reggie miller with strong defense just like what gary payton tried to do with michael jordan.

  • @billslover90 that block killed my dreams

  • Nice block, but Reggie traveled on the play lay-up.

  • @jeev212121 The travel police... worst part about youtube.

  • @jeev212121 no he didnt

  • @reppinda703 yes he did

  • Prince is a great beast ass defender and this was a great defensive playoff basketball play. LeBron confuses his chasedowns for actual defense.

  • Reggie went up so soft.

  • 0:34

he can do that...because he's ben wallace.

  • i love tayshaun, hes been so layal to the pistons....loyal like a prince lol

  • TITLE FAIL

  • lebron's chasedowns have nothing on this

  • Slow Reggie looked down at his dribble and stutter-stepped before attempting a BACKBOARD layup- man, the writing was already on the wall. And Tayshaun actually slowed down himself to time the block. No look down, no stutter, and perhaps a rim layup- things might been completely different.

  • im soooo pissed. I cant find my pistons championship dvd!!!!!

  • tayshaun had to be 22 when he made this play and reggie had to be between 35and 38.

  • It's not a goaltend because the ball never hit the glass and it wasn't on its way down.

  • THAT WAS UNREAL!!!

Prince was one of the best players to go through the University of Kentucky and I'm glad he kept going strong in the NBA! :)

  • man i miss the pistons of 5 years ago. Come on DUMARS make the team what it was!

  • If you look at the score you'll realize how amazing the Pistons defense was, maybe the greatest of all time. They held their opponents under 70 points many times that year and still won despite not having anyone as a dominant scorer. Defense nowadays is nothing more than an afterthought.

  • "defense nowadays is an afterthought": GOOD!! The Pistons were one of the most unwatchable teams of all time, right up there with the 90's Knicks. The league is so much better now that teams require their players to be able to dribble and shoot instead of just bludgeoning the opposition

  • Unwatchable maybe to someone has no real understanding about basketball. Back then teams used to play both ends of the court, being great scorers and great defenders. Now everyone just wants to be shooters but then get their ankles broken when it's their turn to defend. We might as well tell the other team to get off the court whenever they change possession.

  • Gee, I sure remember that at the time this crap series was going on, almost everybody with a "real understanding about basketball" (i.e., coaches, scouts, former players) decried the lack of offensive fluidity, passing, over-dribbling on both teams.

Yes, the Pistons could play defense. Here's a cookie! Offensively, they were a lil better than the 90s Knicks, who almost killed the NBA... But the Pistons were the least offensively capable team to win a title

  • @senjahcore You do know that defense wins championships, right? I understand the fun in watching a 150-148 game between the Suns and the Nuggets in the regular season, but there's nothing like watching a defensive battle in the playoffs. I'm sure you grew up on Warrior basketball or something.

  • @chabowker I could've sent this email a while back but waited til it was official... Ahem, defense doesn't win championships, THE LAKERS WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS.

16 for the 'chise. 5 for Kobe and Fish.

The Celts wanted a bare knuckle brawl with shooting percentages in the 30s. Kobe gave it to them, lol, and he and Pao still sent 'em packin. Detroit is cool, but FUCK THE CELTICS

  • @senjahcore You're proving my point for me. Lakers=good defensive team, Lakers=champions. This was a defensive battle, yet you enjoyed watching it only because you're a Laker fan. *sniff sniff* can anyone else smell that hypocrisy?

  • @chabowker I didn't enjoy last night's game at all. It was horrific in terms of missed layups and open shots, etc. Of course both teams played incredibly hard, starters on the court 45+ minutes each; some of these players will never be the same that series was so hard-fought. Game 7 was admirable, but barely watchable.

A lot like your Pistons of the past. They were barely watchable without partisan loyalties just as no one but a Laker fan could love that thing last night

  • @chabowker So I'm not being hypocritical or proving your point, so much as I'm proving my partisanship. GO LAKERS!! The problem w/ what I saw last night was that it lacked all semblance of precision or skill... If the Lakers generally played like that (Kobe and Pao were simply so fatigued all they had left was their effort), I wouldn't be a Laker fan.

If you enjoy this style more than I do, that's fine: do your thing.

Like I said, though, I got no quarrel with the Detroit-ese. Fuck the Celtics

  • @senjahcore I thought the defense cancelled out most of the skill & precision. It wasn't pretty at all, but I still enjoyed watching it because both teams were going at it hard for the most part. Congrats on the Laker victory.

  • @senjahcore actually i loved to watch those Pistons. incredible defense is great. of course some offense is nice to see but their defense was worth watching. definetly

  • only reason prince caught up was he was going full speed an reggie slowed down tremoundously an he wasent even going fast to begin w. 1 of the saddest moments ever as a indy fan

  • yea its becuz reggie wanted to make sure he got it but still that was an amazing block probably the best ive ever seen its the reason the pistons won the 04 championship and those 5 starters were the best 5 starters ever assembled better then the 98 bulls who had MJ

  • Perhaps Reggie should have dunked it?

  • it's ridiculous how good this block was. Tayshaun is one of the most under rated players of all time. and why didn't reggie dunk it??

  • has to be one the top ten blocks of all time

  • best defensive play in playoff history

  • Lol @ abs1abs

    And yea, Go Prince!

    I dont like Reggie, sorry!

  • look at tays feet..hes moving so fast by the time hes at the other foul line he stutter steps to slow down.

  • i laughed when i saw big ben's hat.

  • fuck the block look at the score

  • wtf are you talking about dude

  • Prince was FATHER TIME at that moment

    poor Reggie

  • Just look where Prince is standing at about 0:08 seconds in; he's almost at the other corner of the court. Then he's out of view, and when he shows up again at about 0:12, he's already right behind him. It almost looks like a camera trick.

  • Thats what u get for not dunking the ball.

  • classics

  • Reggie Miller :

alright im just gunna lay this one softl- OH SHIT!! WTFF JUS HAPPENED??

  • haaha lol

    very good interpretation

  • I miss that team. 1st basketball team i ever followed as a kid.

  • PRINCE RETIRED HIS ASS

  • sad, but true

    lol

  • perfect timing

  • Sort of dumb not to dunk it at that point. If he did that he would've gotten to shoot free throws at least.

  • thats my favorite nba player TAYSHAUN PRINCE!!!!!

  • Bet Reggie Miller still has nightmares about this block.

  • YEAH!! GO TAYSHAUN!! GO PISTONS!!

  • Damn you could see it timed by princed perfectly because he even to smaller steps as he approached reggie. just beautiful

  • give him a break, he's old already that time.. in reggies prime, he could have served a facial!

  • lol.. i wish i was a millionare but it diddnt come true.

  • how is that goaltend ? the ball didnt reach its apex nor did it even touch the backboard...

  • yup cuz its a tie and tie always goes to the oofensive player

  • the game wasn't tied up and i really don't see why rules should be changed if the game was tied. Reggie should have gone for a dunk.

  • not the score dumbass if the refs cant tell whether or not it was goaltending the call goes in favor of the offensive player

  • nice vid

    best block ever

  • @65ejbennett95 It's not even Prince's best block ever. His one on Turkoglu in 2008 was even better.

  • His name is Tayshaun Prince. Not Tayshawn. Ignorance.

  • Reggie should of kept going he was slowing down idk why tired ass lol.. he should of ran as fast as he could and not stop and dunk it instead of stopping at the key and trying to lay it up.. thats what fucked Pacers over..

  • reggie millers lay up skillz is loose.

  • Reggie is 6'7, he's not a short guy, why didn't he just dunk it?! And don't tell me he couldn't reach it because if you rewatch the play, you can see his hand on the same level as the rim as he tried to lay it in.

  • They get tired

  • blocking above the rim isnt goal tending, goal tending is called when the ball has started its descending phase or (which is the question in this case) if the ball as already hit the board...

    peace

  • wrong. the ball wasnt over the rim, it was off to the side, by the backboard.

  • then its clear you dont know what goaltending is biatch

  • Old school players tend to do layups more than dunks, especially at his age and level. I think he was just too confident, didn't really think that anyone would try as hard to get him.

  • END OF AN ERA Pistons

  • Hey, Atlanta are about to get swept, too. So maybe the NBA wants to make Lebron so dominate that he can swept the first two rounds of the series by himself. I still feel good about the Pistons.

  • It's not over yet I think. I think they're going to get rid of Iverson to free up some cap space and eventually, sign a better team player. I don't think Iverson will fit their current rhythm.

  • 7'6 wing span

  • No Joe, it symablises, who you WERE

  • duh, and he built this team around his vision.

  • audiophile102

    hahahahahaha

  • At least they r in play offs)))

  • and your spelling symbolizes who you ARE

  • prince wing spawn is longer than his height.

poor reggie he was astonised saying

    "huh? what happen?"

    wahehe

  • amazing clutch blockkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • HE IS A KING!!!!!! :)

  • omg... Prince....:D nice job....

  • lets go pistons!! That was back when they didnt allow opponents over 70 points for like 10 games in a row!

  • looks like an olajuwon on strickland play. not bad but reggie should have dunked it. i blame miller for going up weak, 6'7", dunk it u wuss. still a good hustle play.

  • thats a pretty low scoring playoff game

  • im a celtics fan but i like the piston cuz they beat the lakers in the finals

  • lol i have this dvd i thought it looked familiar

  • me too i use to hate detroit but i started like BILLUPS and Prince

  • i used to HATE pistons with a passion back then now i want them winning a championship... al because A.I joined that team.. the poor guy

  • prince seems cool, i like players who dont show off. its oldschool style.

  • i kno like d.wade

  • Blocks from behind...It's nothing you can do it with it, you can't see it's coming.

  • DATS MY BOY!

    I LOVE THAT MAN!

  • man what happened to the pistons

    this season hurts me man

i miss these great old days, screw ai

  • The greatest block ever! After this you knew that 2004 was the Pistons year. Hopefully, the same will be true this year.

  • the best block ever and the defining moment of the pistons season in 04

  • i hav this dvd!

  • TAyshaun Prince is a beast the best player in the nba DDDDDDDDDDEEEETTTTTTTTTRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTT BBBBBBAAASKKKTEEEELBAALLLLLL

  • I wouldn't say best player >_>. However, he's one of my favorites nowadays, isn't a showoff, which i respect.

  • I remember watch this game, it was such a great game because the defense was tremendous. The score was so tight the whole, man. Prince is always our guy making a play on defense. The most underated player in the league.

  • Well, I don't know if you call a guy who was called up to be a starter on a gold medal olympic team "underated".

  • I thought he was the bench guy, never started.

  • He is pretty underrated by the fans, obviously..the coaches and players all know he is a really good player.

  • Do you ever hear from friends that Prince is the keystone to the Pistons? Obviously, he's the MVP on their team, but you never hear anyone talking about him because he's so quiet about everything. He's not flashy with his playing either, so not many people see him as a phenomenal player.

  • If Prince can block Miller, he can block the knee out of Wrestlers like Booker T. or Mark Henry.

  • HAHAHAHA LoL that made me laugh ^_^ yeah youre right!

  • this was the best play ive ever seen i remember seeing this live and i was saying when the pacers stole it billups wtf r u doing and then the camera angle didnt show prince cause he was like at half court and then he blocked him i was so fucking happy if it werent for that play we wouldnt have even made it to the nba championship!

    p.s.

    1. tayshaun prince should have gotten pistons player of the year and championship mvp for this!

    2. this play pretty much made tayshaun into a beast!

  • no it showcased maybe the greatest defensive team ever...

  • Damn prince is the shit. i wonder how reggie felt after that.

  • massive block!

  • That's amazing. I mean if that was Kobe, I bet he would just step outta the way.

  • i seen how he did it now after 4 years i was juss so mad i never really watched he juss too a huge step wen he was at tha freethrow line nd took off from there

  • no shit sherlock i think everyone knows that

  • 1. y u suckin me

    2. dhats madd cream

    3. nobody sez no shit sherlock no more u faggot ass nigga

  • I notice when perkins doesn't play or has a bad game, they lose. KG hides behind perkins, w/o him in there he reverts back to his mr. softy saunders, soft days in minnesota

  • damn i was sick when that shit happened i think they could have won the ship and reggie would have got his first ring...damn

  • I had the exact opposite feeling, lol. I was so happy, I had seen tay do that so many times that year, I knew it was coming as soon as I saw him running up the court, but the way in unfolded at that point in the game, and how he saved it to rip was amazing to watch. But Game 2 was GuaranSHEED!!!! remember? lol

  • yea i noe he shoulda dunked...i hate wen nba players do soft ass moves goin 2 tha basket imean ur a grown man 4 gods sake u should b able 2 dunk tha ball...lol...nah but that still was a great block nd clutch too

  • Greatest hustle play I have ever seen. Amazing.

  • That's because Boston is built around those 3 guys. The rest of their team isn't really that good.

  • LOL. The Celtics only need 3 guys and they can beat the shit out of the Lakers 5 man team.

  • just.. wow, right?

  • This series was my favorite. I was screaming cause I thought Reggie was going to make it. Then I saw Tayshaun and they replayed the block many times. It is known as the block of 2004. go Pistons

  • looks sooooo close to being a goaltend but i guess it was clean

  • lol prince looked like he was slideing.

  • One of the all time greatest blocks?

  • Greatest block I have ever seen.

ROFL on how he flew into the stands.

  • One of the greatest blocks ever!

  • Agreed, considering when it happened (playoffs) and time if the game (late stages). That junk was amazing.

  • LMAO at Big Ben's hat at 0:33

  • cant go up w/ weak shit on Prince

  • 0:21 lmao, stupid pacers thinkin there was a foul. all ball baby

  • they thought it was goaltending at first, not a foul. think before you call somebody else stupid....cause you sound pretty stupid yourself.
