I was at this gig! It was the second concert I ever went to, on a steaming hot evening in London. Brilliant! They'd actually put seats in on the floor of the hall, about half of which had to be hastily removed just after the gig started!
I'll say it, The Bunnymen in the rearview are 100 times better than when experienced. (that's a complement to the 80s). What-the-hell happened to music?
@faddy24 i saw u2 support stiff little fingers @ mcr apollo & loved them but they went from cool to foolish , by being way too preachy . simple minds , agreed , but they were not as well paced as the bunnies & at that time it was the clash & the bunnymen that drew me in , it's possible to like any bands. no limit ;)
This is the Greatest Echo song ever. I was at the stage in 1988 in the San Jose CA convention center. They walked off the stage and everyone started chanting DO IT CLEAN and at the time I bet I thought I was leading the chant. They came back on and Les kicked a ballon and I caught it. What a freakin awesome memory. Long Live ECHO and the Bunnymen......Thank You Ian, Will, Les and Pete......No one will ever be the Greatest because you guys are!
this is one of 2 songs that won't be on the cd releasing at the end of sept. - - i don't know what happened to The Fountain...but this is totally cool having the concert RAH83 finally in some medium...wish they'd release the damn dvd and let us live in peace and contentment!
This is indeed on the Killing Moon 12" and was on the Picture on the Wall" video compilation released some time in the 1980s (I think it might also have appeared on a Japanese only cd compilation). There is a similar (but not the same) live version of "Do It Clean" also from 1983 on the "Crystal Days" boxset. Does anyone know if that was ever filmed? It's almost if not quite as good as this one.
Awesome! I still remember the nights in my room repeatedly listening to the 12" of 'The Killing Moon' then following up with this. Woohoo! I like the change in pace and then it lets rip! Oh, I still have my 12" copy. It's a bit worse for wear though :)
wow--so good

@goonchistaw - early U2 were great and Simple Minds were innovative and brilliant between 79-84. It's possible to like `em and the bunnymen.

Arrogance, power and mesmerising musicianship. Does it come any better? No

lol look at all those asymmetrical haircuts! I remember this music was such a departure from what was out there at the time.
There are a couple bands out there today that are good but there really needs to be another mass genre change imo.

This song was the shit on their early years. You can see why Sergeant is considered one of the best in his style.

Listened to it at a friend´s: "He´s going to sing 'Sex Machine' in a minute." - "NO he won´t!" He did.
