where are the songs like this i been lookin for this but its another version thats jus like this n i cant find it anywhere n i miss it so much if people went back to songs like this maybe they would really feel the spirt n do better in life! music is just an epic fail these days!
Hi my name Charles this is one of my songs i love i was a member of the old st.James back in the day when church was church all of my help no body can help like the lord can
I grew up singing a great bulk of Rev. Charles Nicks' music......only I didn't know it until today!!! Thanks for giving me a history lesson! This sounds like my childhood church.....EVERY Sunday was like this......
P.S. Hey, did Rev. Nicks write all of his songs or were they just recorded by him and St. James' choir?
Isn't there a rendition of "The Lord's Prayer" on this same album? If so, could you PLEASE upload it on here? The organ intro on that song is outstanding. No one could wear out the Hammond like Rev. Nicks!
A charge to keep I have, A God to glorify, A never-dying soul to save, And fit it for the sky. To serve the present age, My calling to fulfill; O may it all my powers engage To do my Master's will! One day i was living in sin, Jesus reached down, and took me in, he filled my soul with his love, then he wrote my name above.
I agree w/ ya'll 100%! 1 of the former Churches that I played 4 is still keepin ALIVE the Gospel gems of JCleveland, CNicks, CHayes, DVails, and all in between. The church that I'm @ now reaches back; but not far enough.
Why cant we sing these songs on Sunday mornings...I get tired of two-stepping church songs...I know I'm in this generation...but this song right here is what moves my soul.
Im only 23 and i love these songs. I can shout off this new stuff, but its the old stuff that really gets to me, knocks me on my knees crying. Hard to find churches who still sing songs like this.
This was an ole school song and it had so much true to it and we need more songs like this one. You feel her voice and the Holy spirit with it and the choir was right on track with her and when he came in and said his part make you just want to shout out to the Lord and say thank you Lord for all you have done for me. I wish that other choirs would all join in and make an old school cd and album for the good times
Thanks for sending this song it was so long since I heard it I was a teenager and they used to sing it at my church and I hadn't heard it since then and I just happen to pull it up and there it was so thank you so much. This song is so uplifting and she takes you to church with it you sing it and God bless The Late Rev. Charles Nick he will never be forgotten.
That might just be the case, but I tell you what all we got to do is keep our lives in order. And one day we can all sing in that heavenly choir, and we will all be able to sing these songs once again. I cant wait I wanna lead one of them. What a day it will be when all of Gods children get together.
it went wrong whn they stopped teachin these songs they still carry the same meaning all people hav 2 do is teach them and ur Sunday services will b hot again. Most of the people n this great choir r dead so they cant sing em its up 2 us
My Lawd jesus please... please! Tell me where did we mess up at in the church and how after all you have showed us. Most of the songs now have no meaning to them its all about trying to hustle God with this fake songs. Man Yall only if we could get these songs back into our churches. Everything might be alright. All of my help, that song alright with my soul.
