Anyone else notice that the catcher Griffey was right handed, but the infield Griffey's (where righties are also more common) were left handed? hahaha
Catchers don't "have" to be right-handed, there's just never any left-handed catchers or infielders. On the other hand if 1.5 steps is the difference between safe & out, then left-handed batters get a slight advantage
@BigRedMachine006 Catchers are better suited right handed for put outs considering most batters will be on their left side. Same thing with shortstops, a righty would be easier to make assists and turn plays over second, turning two over the horn is inherently trickier for a lefties.
Likewise, lefties have a distinct advantage at first where they can you their glove hand to pick up over throws outside the bag.
Either way, it's stuff like this that makes baseball great :)
Griffey (catcher) signs a 2, Griffey- (pitcher) shakes head no Griffey- (catcher) " don't shack me off!) hits glove in the air while doing the splits. HILARIOUS!!!!!!!
Griffey is the best there was, he was like spider-man climbing those walls in his prime, Griffey belongs in the Hall for sure, and will always be my personal favorite baseball player of all time.
Elaborate. I have head trauma and am an idiot, because I pointed out an interesting coincidence with the phone number as compared to Ichiro's statistics.

I'm voting for Griffey for the all star game, as well as a write in for the home run derby. Go to MLB.com and vote for Griffey in the all star game and home run derby. You can vote 25 times for each from each e-mail address you have. I'm voting hundreds, if not thousands of times, but he needs more.
This guy was the poster you had on the wall growing up as a kid. He was the guy you tried to copy the swing of in the mirror while playing Little League. Best damn player of a decade, WITHOUT being tagged with drug accusations.
@Mortskcab Oh that's ok, congrats. We've been to some since then and beat Detroit in the 06 WS, got 10 titles now so it's all good. The Twins beating us wasn't as bad as losing to Boston in 04, maybe the best Cardinal team ever, but Boston's pitching was unbelievable in that series so hats off to 'em.
@jcdixon97 Boston is just as bad as the yankees they steal other teams players instead of growing them. For Example the 1991 world series champion Twins had all but only a handful of players who grew with the organization though the minors. Boston though (just like New York) bought thier talent..... MLB really needs a salary cap.
@Mortskcab Oh without question, and the Mets do the same thing just always seem to doink it up late in the year. I've argued this with Yankee fans countless times, if MLB ever does get a cap the Yanks are screwed, and we'll see how important it is to 'be a Yankee' when players cant get 'paid like a Yankee' anymore. Drives me up the wall.
Yeh and Aaron and Mays both faced no scouting reports aside from memory and word of mouth.. as well as inferior athletes. It would be like compareing the 1968 mustang to 2010 mustang.. Not to mention we pull the best from all over the world now not word of mouth US prospects.

i wouldn't be so sure. 600 home runs is enough to make anyone suspicious. and so many people were juicing during that era, there's no reason griffey shouldn't have been, too.
He has an amazing swing. No one has ever mentioned his name for sterioids, he is just a really talented player and no one will take that away from him.
Jr is clean. the guy is skinny. his amazing swing makes him great. his father was a great MLB player as well. Griffey isnt like bonds, bonds gained like 40 lbs of muscle after he was 40 years old. griffey is the same as he's always been. no roids
runner had to tag up, thought griffey wouldn't make the catch lol
and they probably didn't have a left catching glove at the time and didn't care too much, they didn't think retards like you were gonna pick apart every piece of it...take it for what it is, a great memory of when junior was junior
wow because i notice things, im a retard. i wanna be a director when i grow up so i try to look for weird things that are happening in movies/commercials/shows. so if ur gonna call me a retard for something that i like to do ur a retard.
o and if a player leaves to soon then the defensive player doesnt have to tag them. shows how much u know about baseball. ur the one calling me the retard right?

ken is a great player well worthy of the hall of fame and i'm glad he moved from the al west or the angels wouldn't have won that world series

At least you know Ken is legit unlike other players. Hes stayed the same size his whole life.

i wouldn't be so sure.

Griffey isnt like bonds, bonds gained like 40 lbs of muscle after he was 40 years old. griffey is the same as he's always been. no roids

2 questions. y did griffey tag him at second and how did he go from a lefty when he was pitching to a righty when he was catching
bravesfan123456789 3 years ago
runner had to tag up, thought griffey wouldn't make the catch lol
and they probably didn't have a left catching glove at the time and didn't care too much, they didn't think retards like you were gonna pick apart every piece of it...take it for what it is, a great memory of when junior was junior

wow because i notice things, im a retard. i wanna be a director when i grow up so i try to look for weird things that are happening in movies/commercials/shows. so if ur gonna call me a retard for something that i like to do ur a retard.
bravesfan123456789 3 years ago
o and if a player leaves to soon then the defensive player doesnt have to tag them. shows how much u know about baseball. ur the one calling me the retard right?
