Isn't a theory anymore. It is a Law (Hypothesis [where religion still stands], to Theory [hypothesis with lots of evidence supporting it], to Law [Theory that has been proven true]). A "theory" in biology is not a guess. It's a hypothesis that has been proven again and again. It's not called a law, like in physics or chemistry, because biology deals with organisms that are in a constant state of change and flux (i.e. EVOLUTION). You missed the fact that we did NOT evolve from monkeys but that monkeys and humans evolved from the same antecessor. Oh and mice and men and monkeys and rabbits have also same antecessors because primates originate from antecessors of rabbits and mice. Thats why the similarities in the DNA exist. The solution for the difference in the percentage is convergent evolution.

Gravity is just a theory, as is the earth rotating around the sun. These things are not disputed, and the word "theory" carries a lot of weight in science.

Evolution is a theory because everyone is welcome to disprove it. Gravitational attraction is a theory. Now one day someone might come up with a better explanation of why things go splat than gravitational attraction, and that would become the new theory. That wouldn't change the fact that if you drop an orange from a height of more than three metres onto hard ground, it goes splat.
And becomes a lot less annoying ;)

A "theory" in biology is not a guess. It's a hypothesis that has been proven again and again. It's not called a law, like in physics or chemistry, because biology deals with organisms that are in a constant state of change and flux (i.e. EVOLUTION). Oh and there are lots of "transitional fossils". Try doing a google search.

You missed the fact that we did NOT evolve from monkeys but that monkeys and humans evolved from the same antecessor. Oh and mice and men and monkeys and rabbits have also same antecessors because primates originate from antecessors of rabbits and mice. Thats why the similarities in the DNA exist. The solution for the difference in the percentage is convergent evolution.

The fossils and dating are used to compound evidence that species that once occurred with similar bone structures have changed over time. Bone and DNA structures prove they are of similar or same.

@nlpow And natural selection happens, yes, but always within the species, and there is always a LOSS of information, not a gain, a wolf can be breed into a chiauaua but a chiauaua can NEVER EVER be breed into a wolf again, the original information in the wolf is gone. And there is absolutely no observable scientific evidence of a beneficial mutation that increases the information in the genome, evolution ( in the common ancestor becoming all the species sense) is pretty much refuted right there.

But as you implied, it is only accelerator-financing hype that the Higgs would take the Big Bang out of the realm of science fiction. Carbon dating has proved the approximate age of the universe to be around 14 billions years. In addition to that carbon dating of bones and the depth of fossils shows that dinosaurs and other mammals were alive 65 millions years Ago. The bible does not predict anything accurately...

What? You do realise the earth hasnt always been that shape? The whole idea of carbon dating is to know the half life of c-14 and then based on the mass of what you have and the % c-14 still active approximate the age.
