Pat's Tavern, 23 Studio, Wrightnow Gallery, New Waves of Joy, Kelly's, Fat City. All the heart of NoDa and all gone. The Rat's Nest, Evening Muse, Neighborhood Theater, and Sunshine Daydream carry on.
Used to live in a loft two doors down from the Septic-Tank. I still see those "fools" around ;-) It's probably best that there are no videos of the Septic-Tank... know what I mean?
Mandy Z here... Noda hasn't been the same since Fat City shut its doors. That mock up at the end showing the facade as part of a future building is complete lip service. The developers fully intended for that piece to fall down during the first big thunderstorm afterwards. Thanks to KC for having given us yearround boredom busting fun.
I'm glad somebody else cares too, I knew you did. Thanks for the memories, the "hog legs" and the banana pudding! Search google for "wayback machine" then type in the fatcitydeli website address to see the original menu and more memories.
I will always remember KC's "midnight renovations" done with the help of anybody still around and willing to work for green shots. That place was really cool and nothing has topped it since. God do I miss the veggie burger...........
As I watch this video I can't help but to think of all the good friends I've made & great times I've had thanks to Fat City. Although the building is demolished & the scene has completely changed, I will always hold a special place in my heart for N.Davidson & 35th St.
As someone who live at the Chitty I am most sad to hear it's gone. So many memories that I can't remember some I wish I could forget. But all in all it saddens my heart. I frst visited Fat City when I was 16 I'm now 30 and I realize that I grew up there.
Damn. I slept on the roof there.

memory instigation has fallen, when
the story of the front wall of windows,
ediface did it's duty: smashing nearby
parked cars while the weak 2x4 supports
did battle with the allmighty wind gust.
Like the building had it's no where near
retrobution - like it said: "wonderful ok...
take this, Charlotte!"
