Maybe the Sheriff and his corrupt Deputies down there won't try and Confiscate a Big Rig Again like they tried back in 2002, and trump up fake charges - what goes around comes around - strange how all charges were dropped once certain parties threatened to expose that sheriff and his Deputies down there !!!
@JetRanger0007 Whats this? Corrupt small town KS law enforcement? Nah! ...At least he didn't get caught selling prescription drugs to highschoolers like some Kansas sheriffs.
I remember the Tornado that hit Udall, Kansas on May 25, 1955. When I went to Greensburg to help, I was amazed how equal in damage the two were. The modern information these folks had saved a lot of lives when in 1955 all we had was little to no information of what was coming.

These guys ruin the viewers experience with all the juvenile behavior. I know there is a lot of excitement in the situation, but they reveal themselves to be more thrill seekers than weathermen. Some self control would be greatly appreciated by all who view these historic videos.
i wanna chase these monsters to bad... just been my dream for the longest time
and this only conferms my love for them.
my heart goes ou to the people who lost family, friends, and homes due to this tornado, but i have to say, this is one of the best recent tornadoes ive ever seen
I was in the F4 tornado in Hoisington Kansas in april of 01. Its some scary stuff man. Luckily i was in the basement, and the tornado changed direction right as it hit the edge of our block..our side of the street was okay but houses across from us were gone.

poor cows. I'm not a vegetarian or a member of PETA, but I really wish there was something we could do to protect the animals from storms like this. I'm not placing the cows above the people of Greensburg, however, as my hear still goes out to the town.
and just curious, why no hands outside of the vehicle ever? and how did the police ever know that Daniel was found?
I live kinda by greensburg and after the tornado our church went in for mission work and there was a field that didnt even get touched by the tornado and it was probably 5 or 6 miles away from the tornado and it was just filled with wood and all kinds of crap and some people even found like picture frames and watches and stuff like that it was amazing
I'm in no way trying to take away from the seriousness of this but towards the end when the guy says "Stop talking"...he MUST have been talking to Reed Timmer. I want to say that and more every time Reed opens his mouth. He is by far and away the most irritating personality I have ever heard except for maybe Richard Simmons.
I didnt hear reed in this video, its easy to pick his voice out and he was not in this one. He does better camera work, much better so i dont believe reed was in this one.
however, whoever was the "crew" should have learned how to say more than one sentence followed by bickering. They were not remotely close to being prepared for a chase. I hope they improved from this.
@ubenstupen I know im responding to a 10 month old comment here but I just wonder what it is that you like about Timmer? Because for me any video without his voice is a good one. I'm not trying to make light of this disaster i'm just honestly curious. I believe most of the time his mouth is open its nothing but things he thinks sounds good that he himself doesnt even understand. He just seriously irritates me.
I was just down there about a month ago and it's moving. Many houses have been built....chruches, and they're working on the school, hospital too. But their streets are in bad shape and weeds are growing almost everywhere.
90% of that great town was wiped out. Good news and bad is the loss of life was minimal and they had close to 15 minutes to get to shelter. I have been to Greensburg and it is a nice place I haven't seen it since the storm hit though.
That is sooo scary! I just read that an EF5 tornado, or this tornado THAT BAD, happens on an average of 1 TOTAL TIME in the U.S. It's so rare, and EXTREMELY scary!!!
Well, obviously an EF5 looks stronger than an F5, but what is the difference between an EF5 and an F5 in terms of scale? What is the full scale spectrum of tornadoes?
EF stands for Enhanced Fujita, it's the scale that was put in place of the old Fujita scale (F) as of February 1st, 2007. The old F scale put F5 torandoes at wind speeds of 261-318 MPH, while the more advance EF scale places the wind speeds of an EF5 tornado at 200+ MPH.
this IS AWSOME. I LIKE HOW you took this footage. I watched the EF5 tornado from my car 50 miles away. Isaw this huge tornado HIT THE WHOE TOWN THAT WAS SO WIDE IT COVERED half of the sun set
im with you i think there should be a law thats says NOBODY LIVES IN TORNADO ALLEY.i think there should be a law about that so there will be NO deaths every tornado season
While I don't agree that death is right, we can't just place people in the United States outside and around Tornado Alley. First of all, tornadoes are a beautiful phenomenon of nature, minus the death toll. Second, tornadoes happen elsewhere besides in Tornado Alley. Third, they're very helpful for science, and they are just fascinating for people like me.
Also as an additional note, tornadoes aren't the only disasters to occur in the United States.
oh my gosh I start shaking and almost peeing in my pants when there is a lot of rain a little thunder and a couple stikes of lightning I would have a heart attack if i was there.
Thank you for putting your life on the line so that we have a better understanding of the world we live in. I know people in greensburg will get some closure by watching your videos. Sometimes just getting all the info can help the healing process.
Sooo.... whats more funny?....peoples's lives being turned upside down..or your pathetic attempt at humor?....continue to be amazed at the lack of sympathy for victims!!...survived an F3 in Arkansas on April 2nd, 2006....you don't know 'til you've experinced it!!
@Steviethetornadokid Thanks.. Yesterday was the 5 year anniversary of the F3 in Marmaduke, Arkansas. We're looking at some possible tornadic weather overnight tonight. Heads up to everyone.
@rock64bg i agree when i visited my gran in Wakita Oklahoma ages ago on the way to the airport from Wakita a large tornado was on the ground heading for my familys car we drove away from the twister we ended up in Kansas it was petty scary
I loe tonadoes, they rock! and the prople who chase them is even cooler! That thing is massive! but never chase them @ night, only morning, when you can actually see them!

I am actually wondering, since I am quite familar with the area if all those gas lines busted were not from homes as much as it was from Panhandle Eastern pipe line company, its just near town. Major gas lines there.
This video is awesome, I know this is my second post but I really can't thank you enough for posting.
Thanks so much for posting this. I suggest everyone go to Greensburg if they are near there, they are really trying to rebuild and get on with life. Its amazing. My hubby's grandpa is a county commisoner there and the community really has come together.
That storm was terrible. Grandpa almost went to the high school for shelter, it was locked, he thought of a closet instead, but eneded up going to the hospital for shelter. Thank God, his home was GONE when he came back
It's bad enough that the beast was an EF5, but at NIGHT? You can't see a thing! That's terrifying. It's the biggest threat that could possibly destroy your family and your home, and you can't even see it approaching. My heart goes out to everyone who saw that day/night.

Usually when you see a lot of these stormchasing videos, the chaser is all excited, bordering on being giddy for seeing the tornado.
In this video, the chasers FULLY RECOGNIZE that this is a very serious situation. That tornado was waaaay too big to be getting happy over seeing.
