Looks like he's using the motor city pickup too. I don't see the Seymour Duncan logo that the JB on his custom shop rampage obviously has on it.
@monox2k Im not posittive but I think he plays G&L guitars, also you can order seymore duncans w/o the logo on the face. but agreed great sounding rig

I remember first hearing this riff on the radio in the summer of 09 and I immediately knew it had to be the new Alice In Chains. These riffs may be easy but they sound the fucking best Jerry rules!
I think one of the signs of a great guitarist is when you can come up with a super catchy, groovy riff that isn't technically all that hard to play and makes other guitarist think "Damn, That's simple to play but I never would've thought of that!" :)

not sure if someones answered you. do u have a tuner? if so, plug in and tune the low E string down to where your tuner reads either Eb or D# (same note, tuners are different).
once that string is in tune, proceed to tune the rest of the guitar EXACTLY as u normally would to the fifth frets, and fourth fret for the b string. then you'll be in tune a half step down, or as we say, Eb standard.
@pjev93 If your in standard tuning you can fret the "A" string at the 6th fret and then tune the open "E" string to sound an octave below. You'll know when there is no wavering in the notes.

@gibsongod15 Like when I have everything figured out [Treb 10, mids 4/5, Bass 2/3 (because my amp is naturally pretty bassy)] I get a lot of feedback when I turn up unless I cut the distortion down around 8 or 9. And the chugging tone just isn't as good down there.
New album is wicked, just keep listening to it and every tune grows on you, just like the old stuff....great job guys i fucken love it......real music!!!!!

I want to know what amp he's playing through here though. That's where the richness is coming from, not his guitar.

Could be an in house JCM 800, but like I said, I've never heard one sound this good before.
Could be a Marshall combo, or it could be something shitty that for some reason sounds really hot lol.
