  • Is that flint?:o

  • @TheGlobalhunger Sorry, I forgot what the stone was...Got it at a knapin.

  • that is one of the best bird point videos i have ever seen. Very well done and very helpful thanks!

  • lol

  • peace.

  • Ed: I love this video! I can't handle large pieces of flint anymore so try to make bird points. I really wish you would take the time to do more videos on making small points from flakes; most knappers make the big, showy stuff. I think a real arrowhead is the best example of the flint knapper's art. Perhaps you could walk us through flake selection. I bought close to $200 worth of gem quality flint at a knap-in last weeked and I bet most of it has too much curve to use. Cpl. Rey in Ohio.

  • @cplrey Lately I have been trying to replicate sahara desert points. I have some samples to study. Many are super thin because they are made from flakes. As it gets a little cooler this fall I will see If I can produce a useful video. Thanks for watching!

  • Very nice piece!!!

  • u souldnt dothat in the house cause of the microscpic razor blades from the rock

  • sharp rock chips on a hardwood floor...

  • real nice job..but u gave yourself way too much work...u should have just started with a much smaller flake..

  • Can you please explain the piece of copper you are using.

    Thanks,

    Chuck

  • @chuckb71954 The copper wire is a substitute for a deer antler. Pressure applied to the edge of the stone chips off a flake.

    Thanks for watching!

  • can you find those kind of thin rocks just laying around? that the perfect thickness.

  • @terminator567

I started with a big flake from a much bigger rock.

    See the Monster Bopper videos...

    Thanks for watching!

  • Nice!!

  • Great job I love those little points.

  • kinda nice to see a pro making a small point. seeing guys knock out those monster blades gets kinda old. thanks for the video

  • Beautiful!

Thanks for the tip about using the pressure flaker as a shearing tool. You sure do pretty work.
