  • Superb video technique and choice of light situations! What equipment did you use for this video?

  • I shot all the video with a Canon HFS10 camcorder. Most times it was mounted to my Wimberly head via a strobe bracket or mounted to it's own tripod.

  • makes me want to visit and see it my self.

  • Beautiful video. In the first minutes, are the birds circling or are you capturing the migration itself? That's a tremendous number of birds!

  • It's quite a sight to see, and the sound can be deafening. In the morning the birds take off and head out to the nearby farms to feed. In the afternoon they return to the safety of the shallow pools in the refuge to roost for the night. The water keeps them safe from predators like coyotes and bobcats. Thanks for visiting!
