This was a couple years ago both of the cars are way faster now, evo has 272 cams,9 turbo and e85 civic got an ebay turbo kit/rps intake and then it got stolen.
thats not full boltons, maybe a tbe but no more then about 300 hp, that hondas got lighter weight on its side. Race an evo with real full boltons, and bye bye honda. Besides, throw some turns in to that race, watch a fwd understeer into the dirt. Most honda owners do power mods not suspension.
A word of advice, never race you honda 50-100 mph always 0-60, if that race was from a stop the civic def would have won...
I can beat my brothers 1986 mustang gt from a stop, but when we're already moving he blows my ass away. hahah
and I got a civic with a B18 LS swap that's bone stock and bard legal, other than the intake and exhaust. with Vtec my car beats 2001- 2005 i think mustang GT's only from a stop tho

Engines tend to lose power through the flywheel and the transmission and just going to the wheels you lose a certain amount of HP. WHP is the ACTUAL power being put to the ground after all the mechanical drag is factored in. Some dyno's mount to the hubs of the car and it will measure WHP/BHP.

@allturbo16 yeah I guess. The Evo is alot heavier and loses power with the drivetrain. Civics put down their power right there and it weights nothing because its rolling on the shell. Think the evo has a complicated drivetrain on the chassis with a body on top.

@Supra776 HP: Is the power the engine is making before any mechanical drag is factored in. Engines tend to lose power through the flywheel and the transmission and just going to the wheels you lose a certain amount of HP. WHP is the ACTUAL power being put to the ground after all the mechanical drag is factored in. Some dyno's mount to the hubs of the car and it will measure WHP/BHP.

wow you pay for an used evo about 30,000 dollars + expenses to get it up to 23 psi and for the civic probably cost him around 4,000 dollars and 7,000 to swap a k20 in plus bolts on and kpro and it keeps up with the evo and you have around 20,000 dollars in your pocket compared to the guy who bought the evo,, very nice investment you did getting the evo!

Yea you dont need a lot of money to make it fast, but so you know man where people go wrong is too much HP for there setup, if your brakes or suspension isnt up to your hp, man your playing with fire. I call ricer because any car that has 3 shades of one color on there car falls under ricer category. I see a lot of hondas as ricers, mostly cuz theres no respectable ones runnin 12s.
