  • In Search Of was really well produced and researched. Leonard Nimoy was perfect as a presenter. The music was good too. Thanks for uploading these old chestnuts.

  • It's kind of weird to see Spock without his pointy ears... :) I love the show, thanks for uploading.

  • The Lost Dutchmans mine is a Indian Burial ground. Thats why they to this day wont give it up. Lost for ever

  • WOW!!!! I forget this was one of the episodes ...any tourist to AZ nbeeds to see this!

  • The Superstitions are very deceiving. It look like a simple mountain, but when you get to the highest peak, the mountain canyons, hills and dry rivers and gully's go as far as the eye can see. Many hunters go dove hunting, Havalina and quail hunting in the outback of the Superstitions. Been there many times...it's easy to lose your friends if you don't keep talking to each other. Yet you have to be quiet so as not to scare your hunt. Finally, there are more people to this day to go missing.

  • @DannyBruiz

"The Superstitions", are a range of mountains in Arizona located to the east of the Phoenix metropolitan area. They are anchored by Superstition Mountain, a large mountain that is a popular recreation destination for residents of the Phoenix, Arizona area.

  • @Celluloidkid By the way, the Apache Indians named the mountains...not sure what the Apache word is, but I understand their explanation for the mountain.

The mountain seems to move. But it's more of an optical illusion. When you look at the mountain from the west, in the morning it seems far away, because the sun is behind the mountain, but as the day wears on, it seems to get closer. That's primarily because as the sun sets, you can see more detail of all the peaks, valleys, etc.

  • WOW, I remember watching this many years ago..just a stupendous program, NOTHING today can match this series..NOTHING! Just CRAP on anymore..New Jersey houseWHORES anyone???

  • I loved this show too! I wonder why it's never been released on DVD

  • @Deepdesert it has

  • @MegaFunnyguy56 They are from the mid to late 70's

  • after all thes years has any 1 found it or is it still in search of

  • I absolutely LOVED In Search of as a Kid..was mesmerized and couldn't wait for the next weeks show. Good Stuff

  • I miss "Spock" narrating this show !

  • I love stuff like this!

  • I am from Costa Rica and I remember all those productions whose was transmited on 1980s............. oh what years

  • @uranorexic don't be too sure that this is a bogus story. Many huge treasures have been found especially in waters off the southern east coast..., stories that circulated for centuries etc. Some treasure hunters that have become famous for huge finds spent most of their lives looking for a particular find..Like Mel Fisher. Granted the stories people tell have no doubt been altered over time...which would explain why many have never been found

  • great music ..i was glued to my seat in my teens watching this show ..maybe nightmares of bigfoot lol

  • I remember watching the film as a kid as well. I miss the old programs on PBS.

  • I live out near Gold Canyon so I see this everyday. When the monsoon clouds gather over the Superstitions, its a magical sight.

  • the three best narrators ever:

    1: Robert Stack R.I.P.

    2: Leonard Nimoy

    3: Tony Jay R.I.P.

  • I used to love watching this series on the weekends when I was a young boy !

  • This was a fine series. Interesting phenomena examined with an open mind, but not advocating any flaky beliefs.

  • NOBODY else could have narrated this besides Nimoy. His voice just adds that little bit of intrigue to all the stories.

  • In Search of needs to find itself on DVD and Blu-RAY ASAP

  • i think some greedy Smuts found it by now and got rich,...

  • @witecracker2 its the government.

  • Bodie is the best preserved (so far, it is deteriorating) ghost town in the USA, fascinating place to visit but you need a strong 4WD vehicle to get there, off the main road it's 12 miles or more of rough road. Lessons still written on the blackboard in the schoolhouse, books plates curtains still in abandoned houses and a beautiful pool table in the lobby of the hotel.

  • damn. why is all the good stuff cursed!

  • I love the Superstition mountains. I live about 20-30 minutes away and whenever I leave my house I can see them in the distance. They're so pretty, especially when sunlight hits them at certain times of the day. 3 men from Utah went missing this week looking for the mine. I know most of the story is a legend, but I kinda wanna go search for it haha. Anyway, whether there's a mine or not, Lost Dutchman state park is really beautiful.

  • @erinmitbaren Pretty much anyone who goes into the Superstition Mountains never come back.

  • @erinmitbaren Why do people go missing? Are they getting trapted somewhere?

  • @Jmsadv I dunno. It seems like everyone who goes looking for the mine disappears. I've hiked the Superstitions before with my family and we were just fine. Then again, we didn't go very far. There was a search going on for those 3 guys but they just called it off a couple days ago. Maybe there is a mine that people get trapped in somehow??

  • Looks like Nimoy found a sack gold nuggets, check out the bulge in his ultra tight 70's pants @ 4:19, LMAO, I loved this show when I was a kid.

  • This is cool, they got the old school intro.

  • This should be on DVD!!

  • I watched an old movie one time called lust for gold about the lost dutchman,,,,man great movie....In search of is the greatest show ever...music creeps me out..

  • those wonderful peaceful indians !

  • @iamdiaperman yah just as peaceful as the whites

  • I loved this show when I was a kid. Always fascinating stories.

  • I rememeber this show. I remember it being on the History Channel. I remember the line up, was this, FBI Untold Stories, Sworn to Secrecy, History Lost and Found.

God, I miss that line up.

  • i remember this show growing up....the good days

  • Stoney

  • I live right next to the superstition mountains. They are fantastic and beautiful but you could easily get lost in there. Several people have never returned from there.

  • Are you serious ?

  • I Found The Lost Dutchman Using Google Earth....

  • Who would be able to locate this mine if Mr. Spock himself can't?

  • NIMOY ROCKS!

  • Man, I remember watching this as a kid. It's a treasure just for the memories.

  • This time was good, lots of good TV Movies drugs and music and Lots of Sex ! No Gangsta wannabee culture , no fake tax wasting phony drug war ...I miss and feel sorry for real young kids ! But they didn't havre AssBook and cell phone , WHAT IMPROVEMENTS LOL OMG . Follow me on Twiiter I can tell you about my bowel movements and my fav Reality TV shows

  • @muttilo The sex part sounds good and was. There wasn't a Gangsta wannabe culture because there were Gangsters, organized crime thugs and hoods.

A lot of tv sucked though. For every good show, there are two or three terrible ones.

No different then from now. Just no damn reality shows.

  • @mrqcrew everyone says that

  • If you like this stuff buy a book called "readers Digest Strange stories amazing facts" its mad

  • I Grok Dutchman

  • 7:10 to 7:15, anybody know the names of those towns hes talking about?

  • Kaychai, Gaychai, something weird.

  • Another great post! Thanks so much for posting these shows in their entirety with the original openings and closings. I love this show and have it on dvd but most episodes are taped from tv without the original credits.

  • thanx for sharing.

do you have the episode dealing with evps in a graveyard?

  • Thanks for uploading these ISO programs.

Even though some of these programs are decades old- they retain their ability to weave a good story.

  • Agreed.

  • Human's seem to want more & more, thats one reason why there was no gold left.
