  • great song,great,grossly underrated film!

  • such a great song!

  • paul you rock! "rocket".

  • chords?

  • escuchar esta canción me trajo tantos recuerdos. soy gran admirador de la película y de la serie. el tema fue una estupenda creación de Paul McCrane un artista definitivamente con mucho talento. me encantó la edición de este video

  • This is the song that make me standing firm on my dream, and make it coming true :)

  • What an under rated talent Paul McCrane is...deserved better then his exit from ER too.

  • i think the movie is not so good I prefer the TV show

  • @ThePierpaolo72 oh hell no! the TV show[series], over the original movie,r u sure ur not confusing the recent "fame" remake, with the 1980 original ?!

  • truly , still one of my favourites after so many years. When I looked back, didn't realize that I am in my 40's already. Good memories are worth remembering.

  • @rhsjye I've had that experience myself listening to this soundtrack. All of a sudden I realize I'm in my 40s and this probably shouldn't be relevant anymore... but it still is!!

  • For you Oly... only 4 u!!! Sabés lo recuerdos q este video me trae a la mente??? Te extrañoooo!!!

  • love this song

  • WENT TO SCHOOL HERE GREAT MOVIE GREAT SCHOOL

  • WENT TO THIS HS IT WAS A GREAT SCHOOL BUT THE MUSIC IS GREAT

  • Not sure what Paul McCrane is doing now. I'll have to ask my brother Frankie Laino who also appeared in the movie 'Fame'. Frankie was the lead guitarist in the finale scene. He has a close up. You can see him at the 2.53 minute mark of the clip "I Sing the Body Electric". Frankie was in the running to be the pianist for lead part "Bruno" but the other guy got the spot. Paul wrote the song 'Dogs in the Yard' and the director liked it and put it in the movie. He has a spot in Shawshank Redemption.

  • @donnamarielaino Paul McCrane didn't write Dogs in the Yard.He wrote Is It Okay If I Call You Mine.

  • @iw32 You are right! Oops...my bad. Got carried away by his singing the Dogs in the Yard song. Thanks.

  • best times

  • im auditioning for fame, and you can sing any song. im a girl though, and want to sing this. does it matter if a guy sings it? xx

  • My sister died this week. We were young teens when this was out..it is our youth. This takes me back to the seventies with her, I love you Jackie

  • I'm sorry to hear that! My sister died young also about 12 years ago! This is a great tribute song! Take care!

  • @wfptube I'm not sure how long ago this posting was but I'm sorry to hear about your sister, I lost my neice at age 17 so I can empathize. Take care of yourself.

  • Fame I wanna live forever. My favorite movie ever. Love the movie and the soundtrack is great.

  • Beautiful video, with a song from one of my favourite films, featuring some unrepeatable images of Gene Anthony Ray; it made me weep, it really did.

  • me too,.

  • I love this song!! It`s so calm..

In Norway we put up Fame in the theatre, it wasa sucsess!!

  • Hollywood does not make movies like this anymore.........not enough money made I guess...........helping a generation is not enough.....thank you FAME for making the 80"s bearable.

  • Pal the 80's were the most bearable time in my life....it was when I was in high school in NYC and ny was the greatest.

  • Great song. What memories it inspires within me. Ahh the 80s!

  • I've had the Fame vinyl album in my closet for years and years and I always have this song in the back of my mind. Now I'm hearing it for the first time in ages....it is gorgeous!!!! What else has this guy done?

  • is it ok if I call you mine

  • LionHeartPh

Song of my youth...will love it forever!

  • There is something so melancholy about watching that now... Watching the late Gene Ray and the scenes of New York, when it was still seen as a dark, dangerous city......A beautiful song and Paul McCrane is an underated talent.

  • I grew up in NYC during the 70's and 80's and you're right, it was a different city then. And yes, it was seen by many as a frightening place ( kinda was...haha).

  • It was the image we had in the UK, along way from the cool image NYC has now.

  • @emmyjo720 A year later but still a great comment! : )

  • Love this song from the movie. thanks

  • This song meant so much to me at the time that it came out!!!

Listening to it so many years later, I love it just as much....
