Slaves and masters es un discazo en toda regla. Soy fan de los Purple del Mark II, del Mark III y IV y me gusta mucho Steve Morse con la banda(especialmente Purpendicular) ...pero creo que el disco que sacaron con Turner esta entre lo mejor que han grabado. Variado, moderno y clasico a la vez, oscuro y con multitud de detalles sin perder un apice de comercialidad exquisita... y por cierto creo que Joe canta mucho mejor aqui que en sus discos con Rainbow.

I was in college listening to this show on the radio. I remember I was about 30 seconds into the song when I realized something special was going on. Quickly got out a cassette and was able to get about the last three minutes of it. Nice to hear it again after all this time.

I had a chance to watch a Slaves and Masters performance on São Paulo/Olympia, 1991.

Of course, Joe Lynn Turner was a bit slow than others DP singers, but, Slaves and Masters it's one of my favorite DP album (after Machine Head, Perfect Strangers and In Rock, of course). It's a good choice to hear nowadays...
