Guys! Check out the London3Dproject, to see the progress of modeling London, and watch tutorials of how we do it, and how you can get even better at modeling!
@agentgirly You select the bucket tool, which is located at the top of the large tool set, or next to the tape measure at the top of the screen. You then pick a color from the gradient map that pops up, and then you click on the designated surface on which to apply the texture. Hope that helps.
Hey, thanks so much I was stuck trying to understand how to edit a componant on another tutiorial. They had skimm,ed over that bit and I had no idea what tpo do next.
The thing that is weird is that when I select a component or group the select lines are blue where most tuts they are yellow.... Oh well.
watching sketchup tutorials is educational but to work on sketchup, how much capacity do we need ,co'z it take sometime to move the downloaded component or applying of materials to a 3d i have made, sometimes when using orbit command, while zooming or panning... pls. help thanks
This is an excellent tutorial! I've imported a lot of SketchUp objects to my projects in Live Interior 3D. You can see some walkthroughs of my projects on my page.

Look at thefutureis3d . com They have 12"x12" heated build platforms. Make huge objects. Print whatever you want in full 3D. ABS and PLA plastic.

How do you copy the component? I tried the ctr + drag but it doesn't do anything.

@Jayced
i believe you have to select the component first and then press ctrl (and drag with the mouse).
maybe that was your mistake.
