i have a yorkie....shes three years old now...shes is a brave little soul who will stand her ground and is frightened of nothing...i easnt really keen on yorkies until we got ours...now i think they're great dogs...i also have a retired greyhound...the two get on well but the yorkie is defitnatly the boss!

My yorkie's name is Riley, and I seriously think he is one of the best dogs in the world! He is VERY modest and independent, but still loves to sleep in my bed and cuddle. Unlike the yorkie stereotype of 'yappy lapdogs'. I hate it when people treat them as an accessary and dress them up in little outfits. I only have two sweaters for Riley, and the only time he wears them is when it's cold or snowing outside.

My cats and dogs eat hard food to keep their teeth clean and healthy. But breed specific food is silly. Dogs can eat regular dog food as long as the ingredients are all natural and naturally flavored. Feeding dogs "human" food can make them sick and eventually kill them.

She is smart and she could have been a little devil IF I didn't spend the time all puppiwa/dogs need from their owners. Put in the time and you will have a wonderful pet. I have a yorkie. He's friendly but bites because he's teething. I wouldn't in my right mind let his hair grow long or but a bow on my Rocky. His hair is like a true terrier. I love him and i would never treat him as a doll llike these old ladies

He's ADDICTED to fetching. Every time I go to my mom's, IT'S PLAYTIME. He grabs a toy and gives it to me. I'll throw it and he brings it back. If I don't throw it he sarts growling and jumping up and down until you finally give it. He will do this all day and not get tired.
Angel steals his toys just to get him fired up. Then Rocky makes me get it back.
I have noticed that yorkies seem to have this psychic connection. It's like they know how to communicate with you. Whenever my mom brings Wal-Mart bags in the house, they automatically think she bought them new toys, so they get really excited trying to tear the bag open.
If she buys multiple toys, they try each one of them out, but usually go back to using their old favorite ones.
I can be downstairs and say Rocky's name, and he's right there. Even when I call my mom both can hear me.

I had a 5lb male (Wicket) for 12 years. I now have an 9lb. male ( Corky ) from a rescue. I love these pets like my children because they're part of the family. We lost Wicket in 2006. They will love and protect you no matter what.. They do not shed ither. They has brought us much joy and happiness.

My yorkie is the best. He's definitely a yorkie. Loves to chase anything that moves. Still has tons of energy at almost 7 years old. Some things to keep in mind (from my experience) - you have to brush their teeth to prevent decay. They need to be professionally groomed on a regular basis. They can be stubborn. They are "people dogs" and really have to be around other people. And they generally don't do well with cats. Strangely, my Yorkie LOVES to swim.

I carry Jill in a bag where her head can stick out, and it has a side pocket so you can put stuff in it. She loves it. I take her to the vet, the store, or even on family walks in the bag. When we go outside for her to go to the bathroom she goes out on a lead.

i have 2 yorkies ceaser adn jazzy both pure bread for me jazzy adn ceaser have had puppies and they go so so so fast jazzy is 6 now and ceaser is about 8 or 9 im thinking of getting a older male from teh spca he is pure bred if you are looking for a pure bred dog go to teh spca they have lots of them and this male is 12 he sounds wonderful :D

I have a yorkie. He's friendly but bites because he's teething. I wouldn't in my right mind let his hair grow long or but a bow on my Rocky. His hair is like a true terrier. I love him and i would never treat him as a doll llike these old ladies

HAHA.......my mom has a yorkie named Rocky. She also has a female named Angel. Angel can be a handfull, but Rocky is the coolest dog.
He's ADDICTED to fetching. Every time I go to my mom's, IT'S PLAYTIME. He grabs a toy and gives it to me. I'll throw it and he brings it back. If I don't throw it he sarts growling and jumping up and down until you finally give it. He will do this all day and not get tired.
Angel steals his toys just to get him fired up. Then Rocky makes me get it back.

I have noticed that yorkies seem to have this psychic connection. It's like they know how to communicate with you. Whenever my mom brings Wal-Mart bags in the house, they automatically think she bought them new toys, so they get really excited trying to tear the bag open.
If she buys multiple toys, they try each one of them out, but usually go back to using their old favorite ones.
I can be downstairs and say Rocky's name, and he's right there. Even when I call my mom both can hear me.

and they know whats going on in your head, if you are in a bad mood they will jump on you and try to cheer you up.
without even calling my yorkie he will come just by me thinking of calling him,
if you call them out in your mind alot they usually almost always know it and come running,

But I feed my yorkie Jill Beneful and she LOVES it. Shes a healthy, happy 3 year old yorkie. :) everytime my mom comes home from shopping she will usually pick up a bag of beneful and Jill will go through the shopping bags and find the beneful and try to open it. :)

I feed mine a mix of Evo red meat small bites and Avoderm small breed in the mornings, and Weruva wet food in the evenings (he's on supplements and it's a good way to get him to eat his food.

I had a 5lb male (Wicket) for 12 years. I now have an 9lb. male ( Corky ) from a rescue. I love these pets like my children because they're part of the family. We lost Wicket in 2006. They will love and protect you no matter what.. They do not shed ither. They has brought us much joy and happiness.

so I know a lot of people are going to say that i'm only saying it since i have a yorkie, but not every single yorkie is a demon dog. just like any other breed of dog the "demon" yorkies are the ones who have no training and structure in their life. My little guy is the sweetest yorkie and would never hurt a fly. don't judge a breed just by a few bad owners who don't take the time to train and structure their dog. kind of like parenting, you let your kid run free with no rules: trouble child

If you don't train this thing top notch,your in for a LONG 10-15 years(average live span) I know you can say that about any dog, but these things are demon dogs when their not trained.

My yorkie is the best. He's definitely a yorkie. Loves to chase anything that moves. Still has tons of energy at almost 7 years old. Some things to keep in mind (from my experience) - you have to brush their teeth to prevent decay. They need to be professionally groomed on a regular basis. They can be stubborn. They are "people dogs" and really have to be around other people. And they generally don't do well with cats. Strangely, my Yorkie LOVES to swim.

Yorkies are great dogs.
If you want a dog that doesn't shed, you'll love them.
But they are really bullheaded. Which makes a lot of them a bit hard to train if you don't do it when they're young.
That includes potty training. o.<
They also are very observant. Even the slightest noise, movement, or pretty much anything, they will react in some way.
I have raised 6 Yorkies in my life, and I'm only 18.
I know these dogs. Give them a try. :3

I carry Jill in a bag where her head can stick out, and it has a side pocket so you can put stuff in it. She loves it. I take her to the vet, the store, or even on family walks in the bag. When we go outside for her to go to the bathroom she goes out on a lead.
