  • ummm anyone else wondering why the fuck theres cars there

  • ffs, Bradshaw threw that from his own 38. Tack on 10 yards for the endzone, and at least another 10 yards that it cleared. He threw that well over 80 yards (maybe 85)!

  • The browns are stylin' them orange pants. And Swann was the best of all time.

  • screw blake griffin

  • Holy shit I guess all those ballet lessons for Swann paid off right there.

  • Terry Bradshaw > Big Ben

  • The famous "You Go long to the car" play we used in street football.

  • They always had those stupid Chrysler products in Three Rivers Stadium.

Bradshaw had the best arm I've ever seen in football.

  • I say goo deep Lynn Swann but... not that deep

  • T.B. threw that ball at least 75 yards, damn.

  • Do you see the way he helped him up?

That wouldn't happen in today's NFL.

  • It was a Dodge (looks like a local dealer was displaying them in the stadium). I was beginning to think I'd imagined that play. It wasn't as graceful as I remembered, but still, that was a 3 foot high, 7 foot wide trunk, plus, he cleared the drivers-side C-pillar! That leap is overlooked on Swann's highlights.

  • It's NOT fake, I was at this game as a little kid and remember it like it was yesterday.

  • who the hell parked a buick in the end zone?

  • One Raven fan.

  • I REMEMBER THAT GAME

  • see sports was fun back then compared to today.........fans could smoke pot in the stadium, throw smoke bombs on the field, run on to the field and punch players in the stomach.......and cars were parked at the back of end zones so players might permantley disable themselves..........todays sports is just too sanitized........its no fun......

  • @duppydoopy The only thing better would be to have poison ivy and thorns covering the walls at wrigley

  • Cleats and sheet metal don't go good together. Lesson to you kids out there.

  • I was at that game! I never understood why they had cars parked there for every Steelers home game. They moved them back after that episode.

  • that ballett helped him out good =)

  • lol

  • i was there...the fans were pissed...the cars were moved immediately....

  • Swann got hops or what??

  • Swann got hops or what????

  • Holee crap! What a blast from the past. I didn't know this footage even existed anywhere! I was actually there at that game when I was a kid!! I remember wondering if Swann was some kind of superhero!

  • Browns-Steelers Rivalry...remember when it actually meant something? Since the Browns became the Ravens, its all history now...

  • It's a fake, the REAL Lynn Swann would have caught that ball!

  • Thats A Good One

  • Why were there cars on the sideline.

  • damn you simmons

  • Simmons, you're a bum. mailbag

  • Why are there cars on the sideline? Bet that parking pass costs a fortune.

  • it was fan appreciation day dumb ass

  • That's some old 'Back in the Day' stuff. USA manufacturers would often give away a car like that to the MVP of the game or whatever on offense and defense. I guess that would pretty much be a joke now with bench warming linemen driving brand new S Class Mercedes and all. Peace.

  • MOAR MAILBAG!

  • charlie jones...and irv cross?

  • Len Dawson, man. C'mon, you can't not know that. He was also co-host of Inside the NFL (with Nick Buoniconti)

  • EAT A DICK SIMMONS LOL

  • For the sake of humanity/our entertainment ESPN should comp Simmons and his buddies an annual trip to Vegas. Who's with me?

  • obv

  • +1 for your username alone. I'm with you on this but only if the free trip is contingent on Simmons doing at least 12 mailbags (one a month) for the year.

  • Do a mail bag Simmons.

  • SIMMONS

  • mailbags have been boring lately

  • SPORTSGUY

  • Simmons!

  • SIMMONS~

  • Could the 70's have been more awesome. The answer is no.

  • nice place to park a car? nice place to throw a ball

  • it doesn't look like he jumped over the car (a la Kobe).

He obviously got up and on the trunk, put 1 foot down OK, then tried to plant his second foot, which caused a slip.

I can't beleive he got right back up after that. His tailbone had to be really banged up from that fall.

  • you know that kobe car video was fake right? there's no way the lakers would have allowed him to do that; he pretty much admitted it was fake on first and 10 or some other show

  • simmons

  • why are cars parked that close to the field?

  • Simmons!!!!!!!!!

  • SIMMONS!!!

  • Roethlisberger would have gone head first into the windshield.

  • And then he would have led a game winning td drive and won the superbowl.

  • Ben was on the field for two super bowl victories; he never "won" a super bowl for his team.

  • you must've been asleep during the ending of last year's superbowl.

  • 7freddie7 was in front of his TV for those 2 super bowl victories.... No doubt cleaning cheese sauce from his shirt with a tortilla chip.

  • HAHAHHA yeah bro youre totally right, he didn't lead his team down the field and throw a perfect ball to Santonio Holmes to put his team in the lead with under a minute left. Big Ben sucks right man? It's not like he has more wins in his first 5 seasons than any quarterback ever. And it's not like he's led more game-tying/winning drives in the 4th quarter or overtime since hes been in the league. You just know so much about football man..youre awesome.

  • I just guffawed reading this comment. So wrong and so hilarious.

  • I'm a Steelers fan and that's kind of funny.

  • Simmons... but btw, what the hell are cars doing parked there?

  • simmons

  • look at the rush by the defensive line -- so slow! i think i could have played in the NFL back in those days

  • he stepped on the trunk so it's not that impressive. and considering the fact that he then falls on his ass, i'd say it's pretty pathetic

  • What's the big deal? Is it just me or does he step on the trunk at 0:33?

  • Not a big deal? Let's see you do it.

  • Simmons

  • Simmons FTW.

  • Simmons!

  • haha, oh the lynn.

  • Who put that car there?

  • Back in the 70's, Car dealers used to park cars in that area as advertisement.

  • One of the quirks of Three Rivers and most other "cookie cutter" stadiums was the extra space left after the field level seats were moved from baseball to football configuration. I never understood why those spaces were not filled with more temporary seats instead of the latest Chrysler models.

  • say fam that was how they pulled the tarp over the playing field for the grounds crew. lol

  • Thats Funny LoL

  • Lot was full?

  • Great posting=)!! I'm always laughing and telling people how they used to park cars behind the endzone at Three Rivers Stadium and Qualcomm...lol!! Thank you for posting!

  • Good find!!! I watched that game live back in the day. The car leaping only added to his superpowers..........at least to a 10 year old fan at the time.

  • Why did trhey always have those cars parked there at Three Rivers?

  • He almost broke his leg--I'm thinking this is 1980.

  • ...it's '79.

  • 1979

  • They just don't put cars near the end zone like they used to.

  • That's funny - why should they when they can get $30.00 outside the stadium !!!!!!!

  • Old enough to remember Swann destroying the obstacle course on the Superstars? Steelers always draft athletes.

  • Go Browns! They should get those old orange pants back. This is Kardiac Kid era right here.
