ffs, Bradshaw threw that from his own 38. Tack on 10 yards for the endzone, and at least another 10 yards that it cleared. He threw that well over 80 yards (maybe 85)!
It was a Dodge (looks like a local dealer was displaying them in the stadium). I was beginning to think I'd imagined that play. It wasn't as graceful as I remembered, but still, that was a 3 foot high, 7 foot wide trunk, plus, he cleared the drivers-side C-pillar! That leap is overlooked on Swann's highlights.
see sports was fun back then compared to today.........fans could smoke pot in the stadium, throw smoke bombs on the field, run on to the field and punch players in the stomach.......and cars were parked at the back of end zones so players might permantley disable themselves..........todays sports is just too sanitized........its no fun......
Holee crap! What a blast from the past. I didn't know this footage even existed anywhere! I was actually there at that game when I was a kid!! I remember wondering if Swann was some kind of superhero!
That's some old 'Back in the Day' stuff. USA manufacturers would often give away a car like that to the MVP of the game or whatever on offense and defense. I guess that would pretty much be a joke now with bench warming linemen driving brand new S Class Mercedes and all. Peace.
+1 for your username alone. I'm with you on this but only if the free trip is contingent on Simmons doing at least 12 mailbags (one a month) for the year.
you know that kobe car video was fake right? there's no way the lakers would have allowed him to do that; he pretty much admitted it was fake on first and 10 or some other show
HAHAHHA yeah bro youre totally right, he didn't lead his team down the field and throw a perfect ball to Santonio Holmes to put his team in the lead with under a minute left. Big Ben sucks right man? It's not like he has more wins in his first 5 seasons than any quarterback ever. And it's not like he's led more game-tying/winning drives in the 4th quarter or overtime since hes been in the league. You just know so much about football man..youre awesome.
One of the quirks of Three Rivers and most other "cookie cutter" stadiums was the extra space left after the field level seats were moved from baseball to football configuration. I never understood why those spaces were not filled with more temporary seats instead of the latest Chrysler models.
Great posting=)!! I'm always laughing and telling people how they used to park cars behind the endzone at Three Rivers Stadium and Qualcomm...lol!! Thank you for posting!
Good find!!! I watched that game live back in the day. The car leaping only added to his superpowers..........at least to a 10 year old fan at the time.
ummm anyone else wondering why the fuck theres cars there

Bradshaw had the best arm I've ever seen in football.

That wouldn't happen in today's NFL.

nice place to park a car? nice place to throw a ball
mynameisalex10 2 years ago
it doesn't look like he jumped over the car (a la Kobe).
He obviously got up and on the trunk, put 1 foot down OK, then tried to plant his second foot, which caused a slip.
I can't beleive he got right back up after that. His tailbone had to be really banged up from that fall.
