I always love this, one of the best musical movie I have seen. I was really in HS when I first saw this, If I'm not mistaken that was early 90's. I have the vhs and cassette soundtrack. Me and my buddy, both high school coaches used to listen to the cassette and take turns saying the lead in to the underclassmen's program, "The underclassmen proudly present, Romeo and Juliet, Brooklyn style. " Amazing music!! Just found this and am sharing the music and movie with my kids

One of the best musical songs for its time, Glee Cast should do this it brings tears to a sixty year man because of what the song says to kids and people of all ages a GREAT song

An incredible cast, a great soundtrack, and a FUN movie to watch with kids. I hope whoever has the rights FINALLY releases it to DVD. Too much fun for today's kids not to enjoy! Especially with all the "GLEE" hype. Look at the obvious, just from this scene alone 67,000 plus fans would buy IMMEDIATELY!!!

I wish their were a version of this song with just the singers. I know it exists, who ever has copyrights on it won't release it or doesn't feel it needs warrenting. I so totally disagree. If you take out the annoying Principle, the cop says shut the f** up, and the stray away to the scene of the mother. If it were just the entire song recorded beginning to end, without the overcast drama. It would be an awesome video for millions to watch. I know it exists.

From the soundtrack to this movie as someone stated is indeed with Michael Bolton and the broadway cast of "Sarafina!" and in the spirit of a relay/tag the soundtrack to the movie of "Sarafina!" with lead vocals by James Ingram, which I consider to be the definitive version ...

Does anyone know is there is a copy of this that is just the group singing. One without the teacher, the cop and other background interference. They must have recorded the whole things as a song for the movies and then mixed in the none singing stuff - I really dislike that annoying "I want this thing stopped now, the shut tthe f--- up interfering with the song. That song is called "Something To Believe In" by Bill Champlin. It's an awesome song.

I have the soundtrack and it's amazing. The only bad part is that this song is sung by Michael Bolton instead of the cast so it's not quite as good. But overall the soundtrack is incredible and one of my favorites.
