Because in a civilized world, war is a last resort after diplomacy fails. Even if Russia rebuilds itself, which is not gonna happen within next 20-30 years since their production rates of new equipment is too slow to catch up with NATO, they will still won`t be strong enough as China or other major powers.
Russia is already a major power, with far reaching political influence, vast amount of natural resources, and one of the world's most powerful militaries. Its only gonna get better from here on.
Far reaching as in globally, Russia has influence in the middle east, south america, etc. EU isn't centralized enough to be viewed as a singular entity, China has been a lot less active than say Russia or USA on the global stage.
Middle East = Iran, Oman and Yemen (not really major players), South America = mostly Mexico and Venezuela. And that influence is limited to mainly trade relations, they barely can affect politics.
Seriously, even China has racked more friends, than Russia. How many mining companies they own in Africa alone? Their influence is felt in South America even more than Russian. And they have almost achieved dominance in Southeastern and Central parts Asia.

Militarily the Mujaheds were no match for the Soviet Army and were demonstrated it over and over. Soviet Union leaving Afghanistan was not a military victory by the Mujahadeen, there was no urban center that they captured, there was no strategic point that they were able to push Soviets out off.
2. There was no Taliban, there were the Mujahadeen, Taliban was formed later. You don't even know the most basic things about this conflict.
Military objectives on the ground is what the Soviet Army was always able to accomplish all through out the course of the war. Killing the enemy. Operation Magistral, other offensives, all were successful.
1. Pro-Soviet regime existed in Afghanistan before 1979.
2. First time anyone heard of Taliban was 5 years after Soviet troops left.
Considering that Communist regime lasted 3 years after Soviets left and Islamic Fundamentalism did not spread into neighboring Soviet republics (mostly muslim populated) - this was an achievement .
Not to mention that Soviets won every major battle.
As for towelheads, they kicked soviets asses and forced them out of Afghanistan. We are still in Afghanistan, and the Taliban can`t win. That is a lot more than soviets could accomplish.
Correction: The mujaheds were getting their asses pummeled by Soviets the whole ten years of the war, then the Soviets left due to financial crisis they suffered due to the arms race with the west. Also USSR never used more than 10-20% of its military might in Afghanistan.
Money wasn`t an issue back then, since it was central planning system in USSR. Anything but money. Soviets left because they couldn`t win this war. Their tactics were obsolete, army ill-equiped and demoralised.
NATO, on the other had, had very little casualties compared to USSR, and it sent merely a fraction of its total military power into Afghanistan and Iraq, and accomplished a lot more than USSR.

Tactics adapted through out the war, the Mujaheds never stood a chance in winning a ground war against the Soviet military machine. NATO hasn't accomplished nearly as much as USSR in that it doesn't control nearly as much of the country as USSR did.
Also NATO casualties as of right now in Afghanistan are 1664, but you have to keep in mind that the Talibs are not being given large sums of money by anyone, like the Mujaheds had in the 80s. You also got to understand that NATO is not trying to occupy the entire country, they mostly stick to the cities and bases and perform frequent air raids rather than constant ground operations.Might also be the reason why heroine production within the Afghanistan hasn't been cut back any, but in fact risen.
USSR also mainly sticked to cities and bases they garrisoned, and raiding from them, but their raids brought many casualties to them. Even your own commanders and politicians admit it that soviet army was not prepared to wage war in Afghanistan.
And about NATO troops almost never leaving bases, that is BULLSHIT. And not all of the coalition troops have air coverage, some in fact prefer to bring artillery instead of aviation. Talk about "frequent air raids", huh?

Mujaheddin did not control even 50% of the country - attacking fuel trucks does not mean 'controlling' by default.

Militarily the Mujaheds were no match for the Soviet Army and were demonstrated it over and over. My argument isn't flawed, simply logic and in agreement with factual reality of the situation, unlike yours. Soviet Union leaving Afghanistan was not a military victory by the Mujahadeen, there was no urban center that they captured, there was no strategic point that they were able to push Soviets out off.

2. There was no Taliban, there were the Mujahadeen, Taliban was formed later. You don't even know the most basic things about this conflict.
Military objectives on the ground is what the Soviet Army was always able to accomplish all through out the course of the war. Killing the enemy. Operation Magistral, other offensives, all were successful.

Correction: The mujaheds were getting their asses pummeled by Soviets the whole ten years of the war, then the Soviets left due to financial crisis they suffered due to the arms race with the west. Also USSR never used more than 10-20% of its military might in Afghanistan.

Money wasn`t an issue back then, since it was central planning system in USSR. Anything but money. Soviets left because they couldn`t win this war. Their tactics were obsolete, army ill-equiped and demoralised.
NATO, on the other had, had very little casualties compared to USSR, and it sent merely a fraction of its total military power into Afghanistan and Iraq, and accomplished a lot more than USSR.

Eh...no, economic collapse was the reason why USSR left. Militarily they've been winning the war the whole 10 years they were there. Tactics adapted through out the war, the Mujaheds never stood a chance in winning a ground war against the Soviet military machine. NATO hasn't accomplished nearly as much as USSR in that it doesn't control nearly as much of the country as USSR did.

Also NATO casualties as of right now in Afghanistan are 1664, but you have to keep in mind that the Talibs are not being given large sums of money by anyone, like the Mujaheds had in the 80s. You also got to understand that NATO is not trying to occupy the entire country, they mostly stick to the cities and bases and perform frequent air raids rather than constant ground operations.Might also be the reason why heroine production within the Afghanistan hasn't been cut back any, but in fact risen.

Mujaheds were controling 80 to 90 % of territory of Afghanistan. Supply routes from Pakistan and China were secure and undisturbed.
Because soviets were reluctant to give up cities, they just launched sweeping raids once in a while, to relief encircled units and convoys. Other than that, ground operations were not as frequent as ISAF.

USSR withdrew because it was unable to continue war (lost cause). War was taking toll on lives, soviets also felt international pressure and war weariness among its citizens.

Increasing military development to create jobs and revenue. I believe in mandatory service. America is divided between the people who believe in morals and those of nationalism. The United States isnt the only country with outright agression, Its just the easiest scapegoat. yes, truth be told, there are a lot of stupid, fat people here. But the few that arent are the ones who truly bring a threat. (sadly america is a place where darwanism works backwards...)
