WTF!? That is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth (of England) in the embassy. Do Canadians swear allegiance to the British monarchy? I didn't know that. I thought they had their own.
@Davidbensonxyz I would assume that Candaians are like Australians. Both are a part of the British Commonwealth. We have our prime minister and then we have the Queen as our head of state and the Queen's representative in Parliament is the Governor General.
@ElliePri Yeah, you are right. I Googled it afterwards. I never, ever knew that though. Canadians much have so many layers to their national identity; being colonised by the French, being part of the British Commonwealth, being influenced by their proximity to the US, their own inherent Canadian-ness. Imagining growing up the child of immigrant parents in Chinatown in Canada. Your head would probably explode if you tried to pin down your main cultural influences!!
In Finland we also have a bilingual system like that, even though the swedish speakers are a minority. It doesn't really work all the time but it's still quite nice :)
jeez, i watched now from season 1 to now... yes there where funny things, but nothing made me ought loud then the crime recreation scene!!!! jeez that is amazing. i laughed out loud for a minute!!!!!!! love it thanks
