The fossil fuel issue is almost a fossil itself with the oncoming advent of solar energy. We have not been efficient enough to consider solar energy until now. Once it is implemented we will not be using oil for anything but lubrication. Possibly by 2015. Within the next wave of industrial automobile invention. We are already using them for hydro electricity. It is a study and plan to convert. Meanwhile it has been wasted for decades because of the cost and foreign profits.

While it is true that we don't have alot of troops on the ground, our contributions in Afghanistan are far greater than a single US Marine Division - platoons being 20 to 30 troops depending on the role.
Canada has taken the lead role in the most dangerous part of Afghanistan.

According to a CTV poll, hardly any Canadians are interested in paying a carbon tax. The survey question a couple of days ago was "Would you be willing to pay a carbon tax?" and 22% (1437 votes) said Yes and 78% (5001 votes) said No.

It was quite funny to watch Martin, while he was Finance Minister and then Prime Minister, toot his own horn the two times the unemployment rate went down by 0.01% and then to have it go back up by 0.02%.

Obviously, you haven't been out of the country. The GST is based on Europe's VAT (Value Added Tax). As I said before, the GST was meant to replace the manufacturer's sales tax. You Fiberals have a hard time paying attention and learning.
Harper following the Bush lead has spent $2 BILLION on developing Ethanol fuel from grain. This isn't "Green",it was about lowering US dependency on Foreign oil. The fossil fuel issue is almost a fossil itself with the oncoming advent of solar energy. We have not been efficient enough to consider solar energy until now. Once it is implemented we will not be using oil for anything but lubrication. Possibly by 2015. Within the next wave of industrial automobile invention. We are already using them for hydro electricity. It is a study and plan to convert. Meanwhile it has been wasted for decades because of the cost and foreign profits.

I am glad we have a Conservative government that has brought in the accountability act, properly funds the military, stands up for arctic sovereignty, lowered taxes and improved the problem of the fiscal imbalance. Granted, the Tories are a bit weak on the environment, but there was such a lack of vision from the Liberals that change was needed.
I would add that the government that sent Canadian troops into Afghanistan was Chretien and Martin, not Harper.

While it is true that we don't have alot of troops on the ground, our contributions in Afghanistan are far greater than a single US Marine Division - platoons being 20 to 30 troops depending on the role.
Canada has taken the lead role in the most dangerous part of Afghanistan.

According to a CTV poll, hardly any Canadians are interested in paying a carbon tax. The survey question a couple of days ago was "Would you be willing to pay a carbon tax?" and 22% (1437 votes) said Yes and 78% (5001 votes) said No.
Too bad CTV did not ask whether people believe that Global Warming exists. The result probably would be 1% Yes and 99% No.

Frontal "tinkering" of1/2% reductions only costs the economy more, especially clawing back revenue through higher income taxes.
