  • Thank you for this.

  • Oh my God, he's so tender when he says "well, not MY Kathy"!

    :')

Thanks for posting, that's such a precious stuff!

  • So Paul Simon stole Scarborough Fair? What the..?!

  • This is SO awesome!

  • "so by default we were our real last names" ....... as opposed to having previously been their fake first names. There's something very apropos about all of that.

  • m encanta ste tipo ere un personaje unico

  • It is great to listen to this rare clips. Paul simon is a genius

  • Art Garfunkel has a deeeep voice!

  • Add a tag for Jackson C. Frank. Either he influenced Paul or vice versa, but my gosh the acoustic guitar riffs are similar.

  • " not my Kathy " wow he still might have some feelings for her.

  • Kathy's Song has got to be one of the greatest love songs of all time. What an amazing song!

  • Good god. Eddie Simon is like, an exact replica of Paul. When he went on about "the night I heard Sounds of Silence" I thought "well, you wrote the fucking song!" and then it was subtitled "Eddie Simon"... seriously, it's almost the exact same person.

  • LOL! I!!! thought it was Paul Simon as well, i mean, Eddie Simon must have been artificially created in lab somehere, he's definitely paul's clone!

  • Amazing footage - please post more. I am intrigued to know what happed to Kathy? The cover of the Paul Simon Songbook album is a beauty.

  • Good video. Scarborough Fair is a folk song going back many centuries so Paul Simon owed no apologies to Martin Carthy for recording it, especially since he overlaid with Canticle. And Simon & Garfunkel did a beautiful job singing it. Does anybody know what became of Kathy in "Kathy's Song"?

  • As Paul says in the video in 1991, Kathy is very shy. I'm sure she is still living a quiet life somewhere in the UK.

If you happen to read this Kathy, can you update us?

  • Yes, definitely great.

(BTW, Carthy and Simon made peace with each other many many years later...)

  • Yeah. I was at the London concert in 2000 when Paul Simon invited Martin Carthy on stage to duet on Scarborough Fair.

  • @Ellgee82 Ahh that's good news -I hate to see a grudge

  • Thanks again ellgee for some great material!
