@GypsyTexan Looks like most of it actually fell on the toe of the slope, so that would explain why it didn't create any serious water displacement. (e.g. "tsunamis")
@briansmobile1 We were fishing on a boat in the bay when one person in our party noticed a white dust cloud over the water along the wall. Part of it had just collapsed. We headed over to check it out and noticed more dust coming out of the recently created cracks, and then heard a loud "bang" caused by a large chunk of rock cracking heavily. We knew then that more was going to come down, but we didn't know when. We sat there for 15-20mins videotaping before the rest of the wall collapsed.
Happened in the middle of the night to my friends as well about 15 years ago. They were all sleeping on top of the houseboat about 100 feet from us. They were all completely covered in mud from the sandstone splashing in the water right next to them and its amazing that the avalanche of sandstone barely missed the boat. Took them a few hours to clean up everything so they could get back to bed but an incredible thing to witness nonetheless!
"HOLY SHIT!" haha pretty cool thing to see

@spitupstars Not really. A few ripples is all. No "tsunami". :)

wow...amazing. Just a reminder to moor your houseboat far away from cliffs with a lot of rubble below 'em..geologic time includes now!

I hope I never camp under one that is ready to go. I think about it but you never know exactly when or where...

GLOBAL WARMING!

How did you know that was going to happen? Or did you know? You can see the rock is whitened below that indicating a previous collapse.
