  • Awesome! Loved this version ever since I bought the German import vinyl. Thanks for the upload!

  • @JoeDeceiver You're most welcome. And: GOOD TO KNOW!

  • Status Quo's version of this song was awful. This version is worse.

  • @QuoTime Hey, Mr. Positive! Thanx for checking this out and voicing Your opinion. Why not let us hear YOUR version, just for the possible sheer bliss of anyone like You unhappy with QUO's or Dexys'?

  • @jmedia1: Hey Mr. Pompous! Thanks for commenting on my comment and voicing your opinion. That's what the comments section is for, even if one is of the opinion that a song is a complete load of bollocks, right?

So, to criticise an awful cover version of an awful song one has to perform one's own version? What kind of tosh is that you're laying on me? You're too funny.

  • @QuoTime Insult is not criticism. Just watch something else that You like.

  • @QuoTime. do it yourself...let us see how good you are.....then i'll do a version and we can all have a laugh at that...coz i am not very good but,i'd have a go.

  • Who played bass on this?

  • @PilesDriver One of the regular cast back then I assume.

  • @PilesDriver Im guessing that it could be Quos Bassist Rhino

  • @PilesDriver It was likely Giorgio Kilkenny, but it may have been Rhino Edwards. So, I kind of didn't answer your question.

  • Yeah, this'll do for me. I'm a big fan of Quo and Dexy's so I enjoy both versions. depends what mood you're in really no which one you prefer at the time. The Quo version is quite country and western-ish and so is this but with a folky feeling. Brings back good memories. Thanks.

  • @ytgibbo You GOT it! Big Quo fan here since 1976, too (even had the pleasure to see them live) & Dexys will always hold a special place in my lifetime just as much...

So: My pleasure in sharing completely;-)!

  • This was originally on the double pack 7" of 'This Is What She's Like'. I think it's great. Certainly miles better than the Quo version.

  • Each of them great in my mind.

  • Sorry, this is awful !!

  • I thought so, too, at first...

  • You're right. It's growin on me lol

  • Cool; this will be Your favorite song of all, when You've visited here the 50th time;-)

  • Where does this version come from?

  • Was a bonus track from '85 on a re-issue cd of "Too-Rye-Ay"; have to confess it took me SOME time to get fond of; one of Dexys' most unusal tracks for sure...
