@321Yixo - UR so right. & so is "smoochchf" - crap form characterizes crossfit folks. These are "momentum-ups" by means of kipping more than muscle-ups; that is what the Crossfit cult teaches. This guy can't do 10 genuine muscle-ups. (Nor can I.) But I can do them from a seated position on the floor to avoid momentum. There is nothing wrong with cheating to do an approximation of a hard exercise as a transitional tool until you can improve your form if UR HONEST about it. Crossfit isn't.

Thanks I'll try that next time. I did a workout yesterday of 3 rounds of 12 Muscle Ups, and 75 squats with the full extension and ring turn out as you suggested. I felt pretty good doing at that way... definitely a little slower though.
Didn't see one good muscle up, just a bunch of poor form swing ups.
