    Because I have two magnet balls and I want to make a pair of globe knots to house them and they will stack to each other.

    ~~~~~~~~
    I will try later to figure out if I can make it with more rag-knots to make a bigger globe.
  • cuanto mide esa cuerda
    as measured
  • i really shouldn't have skipped ahead...
  • Also what do you use to torch the ends.. I saw it in another video and am interested in it. I currently use a zippo but could use something more reliable
  • It seems like you hollow out the paracord. Is this true and if so is it just to get some more flexibility out of the cord?
  • How do you not get confused.. T_T
    Incredible.
  • Very well done. I especially like how you take your time between each step. I had to go through the video three times because I was using thicker cord, but in the end worked out great. Keep up the great work!
  • where along the 4' section of cord do you start wrapping? the instruction on all the steps are very well laid out, however you cant get to that part without seeing where exactly to start haha. is it just the middle, or do you start more to one side or the other?
  • Porn music
  • Thanks!!! It was pretty hard at first, but now it's very simple. :))
  • Never been able to make this following the book instructions, but this video while using the thumb makes it easy to follow. Thanks.
  • Finished tying the 'Tiny Globe Knot."
    I'm gonna call it 'The Ball of Death.'
    Whacks a friend in the head. xD
  • Beautiful Work. You must have been a Bos'n on a four masted whaler in your other life.
  • Oh god... 666 likes! better like the vid
  • I could not keep up but great vid
  • Do you practice like crazy before filming or is this just how your brain works? Really stunning! I didn't realise tying could be such an art form!
  • There is no possible way I can make these I've bought the string stuff and I've tried no joke about an hour for al of these knots would u make one an I could send money
  • Great video, except for the fact that it keeps stopping at 3:30 so I never get to see how you finish the knot :-(
  • I going make 6 of these and tie em to a stick, and whip my girlfriend with em ! (:
  • @CyberINetwork this was soo funny it was my first time snorting druing me laughing
  • @CyberINetwork A marble is in it though! =O Please don't hurt her. O_O
  • outstanding instructional video and attention to detail
  • very nice
  • para que funciona eso o que hacer o que ???
  • Beautiful!!! The instructions are priceless. How would you use this? In jewelry? If so, how?
  • If you added more turns to start would it be a larger knot?
  • This took a few tries but when I got it right the finished product is amazing
  • thank you so much. I've been trying to ask more than 1000 people how to make this knot. My mom used to do it to my sweater that she knit. then Mom gets sick for 10 years and she passed away last year... .No one in my house know how, I should have learn it while I was little ... Thanks a lot.
  • I love it!!!! If only I had that kind of string, thank you (:
  • Would it work if you cut the extra string of the end of the ball or does it have to stay on?
  • By looking at the pic you expect it to be really hard but it's really easy :)
  • how long does the cord has 2 be?
  • Same I wish I still had had my arbors mostly the big ones LOL;)
  • Holy moley! Now I am sorry I didn't keep all my marbles! You are fab for sharing your creativity. Thank you.
  • You brain is amazing!!! You must be a pro at puzzles of all sorts. I am really enjoying your videos. Thank you for all you wonderful work.
  • Yeey i made it :D
  • Your teaching is fantastic! I love how easy it is to follow along. Thanks for going slowly and taking the time to pause between steps. Absolutely wonderful.
  • Any one manage to close this damn thing! I get so close but can't seal it up. What's the trick, anyone?
  • i cant do this!!!
  • faaaaa didn't bother to mention that you will be needing a marble to the end of the video,
  • Now your youtube channel is my favourite :D Your tutorial are so clear and i can do new bracelets every day!Thanks;3
  • Your just extrodanary
    I mean like everything you do is simple but looks so complex.
    I never throught any of this could be done.
    But with you, you can walk up to a 10 ft piece of paracord and turn it into something beatuiful.
    People may think tieing knots is dorky.
    But this is something incredable
    Great Job
  • Your videos make every knot creation do-able by simple people like me. I love that you take the time to make sure that anyone watching totally understands what you are doing. Well done ! Beautiful knots.
  • Absolutely amazing!! Love the videos very helpful and easy to follow. Thank you for posting!! Keep up the awesome work!!
  • you're on of the greatest treasures of the knotting community. thanks so much for teaching all of us so much. i wear a ripcord sinnet on my wrist everyday.
  • Ok seriously like i know it comes natural to you, but at the end of tying these knots and when it comes to tightening everything up and making it all nice and tight and uniform.......please spend just alittle more time on this, cuz it's usually where i mess up.
    Otherwise though great vid man
  • Awesome... So neat when finished.. TY for sharing...
  • CANT DO IT!!!
  • where can i get paracord? i cant find it anywhere
  • sei bravissimooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,ester
  • isnt this knot like the monkeys fist knot
  • so i was tying the knot, got it all done and oh you need a marble, but i dont have one. I knew i should have just done my homework...
  • Great - it's like a much quicker and easier Monkey's Fist. I'm sure this will come in useful; thanks again matey!
    Reckon ye could just an oar or something to compensate for the thicker rope. Never thought of doing it like that..! Ah yer an inspiration
    I only remember the knots that are tied over and over and over again for utility (like the ones in yr shoelaces)
  • what type of string are u using?
  • can you tell me what is thinner than 550 paracord?
  • @gotcalves : nylon Paracord / 550 cord is 4mm, I think - breaking strain varies between 75-750lbs (not that will probably matter) and usually 7 core 2ply - so anything thinner than 4mm is yr answer, mate :P
    Uh, I guess you could try the nylon rope that's used to start petrol engines - that's about 3.5mm and they usually come in the right lengths for decorative knots (not sure about the colours tho). Or tent guide ropes, they're thinner than 4mm usually too.
  • How would you tie this knot to work at the end of a paracord bracelet?
  • No sabes cuánto me alegro encontrar tus videos. Estoy entusiasmada con tus tutorias y me he puesto como reto aprender de ellas. Un saludo desde España. Muchas gracias por compartir.
  • this did not work for me.
  • Can you make a ring out of this? Just like the Diamond ring? :D
  • Hello JD. I am a recent subscribe and I truly love and appreciate your work. Thank you. As a former sailor (navy) who did the "fancy work" on the ship, I've recently started tying again. I'm inspired by the art and challenge of your work. Thanks again! I look forward to tying the tiny globe knot for the first time. All the best.
  • Excuse the beginner question but this is coreless paracord, correct?
  • how do you make a bigger one?
  • I like this much better than a Monkey Fist knot! It's more involved, but the end result is worth it over the Monkey Fist.
  • This channel is a little peice of genius.
  • I making a do toy using the video as the basis. Knowing the ratio of the diameter of the marble to the diameter of thencord will allow me to shop for the rope. I have the cord, JD, what is the size of the marble.
  • @itsrichagain - Ummm...hold on (going to measure marble) - The marble is half an inch.
  • @TyingItAllTogether How do I 'Scale' the size of the knot? i.e.: I have a 7/8" marble instead of half an inch. Following the tutorial, I still have a good amount of exposed marble... should I wrap one or two more loops around my finger to acomodate for the increase in the marble size?
  • these knots of yours are so cool im going to start making a lot of bracelets and if enough people notice i think i could sell them too :) thanks for sharing
  • So complex! = S
  • what other material than this can be used to make this knot?
  • Keep up the good work...
  • is that a 5/8 or 7/8 in marble buddy.
    keep up the good works.
  • Thanks a million. First time I grokked a globe knot.
  • This knot is just what I've been looking a long time for, to finish the end of a torch lanyard.
    Instead of the marble, I've used a spherical neodynium magnet, so I can magnetically attach my torch to the roof of my campervan, making it easily accessible and detachable. I tried monkey's fists, but the magnet is so powerful it works it's way out of it too easily. This I know will work a treat. Cheers!
  • Now you have me researching U.S. made lead free marble options :P
  • 7:31 thats what he said
  • Beautiful!
  • this is a really cool looking knot can it be done with two colors? are you going to put out a book with more if your knot and bracelet? I bought your other book and really like and like having on hand when not in front of my computer. thanks for all the videos
    archjr72
  • your knots and vids recently are top class then again they all are can't w8 to try these :)
  • JD - I've been tying this knot for my friends for a while now, but I've been doing it the old-fashion way. This is so much simpler. Thanks for making it easier for me! I Purchased and love your fusion book, thanks for all the inspiration, friend!
    -Adam
  • Boa tarde JD, falo do Brasil, que bom que voltou a trabalhar com knots.... ultimamente a gente só via Braceletes
  • thats amazing....2 hard for me 2 d0 tho
  • J.D., you've out done yourself with this beautiful symmetrical not.
    If one wanted to attach this knot to something else, what would be another knot to use that would be equally appealing, rather than using a simple overhand knot?
  • @inquisitivewolf - You could use the knot shown at at the begining of "How to Tie a Banded Solomon Bar Fob" or wrap it up with a diamond knot (shown at the end of my "T-Virus Sinnet" video).
  • Hi from VENEZUELA and thank. GRACIAS DESDE VENEZUELA
  • Thanks JD this is another great one!
  • Awesome as always. If you increase the number of turns on your finger will that make the globe knot larger?
  • What's the diameter of that marble?
  • can this be done without a marble?
  • Excelente explicacion, buena calidad del video... despacio y bien claro...! quedo espectacular...
  • You said you used a 4' length of para cord, after you were done tying, how log were the remaining slack ends?
  • Swing it around on a long cord and if it hits your little brother, it'll kill him! lol not rly
  • Wow. That is great seeing the technique in so much detail. Thanks. Subscribed.
  • Man, i should make some cufflinks with this knot!
  • I can't get it to wrap around the marble as perfectly as you can. T-T
  • Beautiful! Do you know all your knots by heart? Or do you "forget" knots after a while?
  • @stschmalhaus - I spent years memorizing knots, but no longer do. Now I simply fiddle, twist, and turn the cords until I see something of interest. Then I stop, take a picture, and study what I've done. After all is understood, I make a video, so none of us will forget. In a way...my fusion knots and ties are what would have been lost, if modern video technology didn't exist. Because after cataloging my work and sharing it with you all, I don't bother trying to remember it.
  • @TyingItAllTogether Yes, that makes a lot of sense! Thank you for your excellent work and keep it up!
  • @TyingItAllTogether I think you're doing the world a dis-service by not putting the stuff you come up with in "stone" ink/print. It's really amazing. Who'd've thought, just from a piece of string. The technology is wonderful, but it's not inconcievable that some day folks may have to do with out it; & therefore the majority of us would be SOL. A YT vid is great, but nothing beats pages in your hands.
  • @TyingItAllTogether
    I have been a fan for a while know. Just purchased your book and now finally have all the 'tools' and paracord colours to keep me going.
    I hope one day to not remember knots, as you do, as I have been doing it so long.
    I love your work.
    And I thank you. You have given me an outlet. I find following you through your designs and challenges takes the stress of work and life away. More so than I can explain - honestly I cant thank you enough.
    -J Mc
  • Thank you so much for posting. This knot is absolutely astonishing!
  • So cool love the way you do it. Fantastic...
  • So is this the ball-part of the baby rattle? Me and my son (soon 11 months) are really looking forward to it!
  • Make 10, tie them to a pole, you got yourself a paracord flail.
  • Awesome
  • Beautiful work man, ingenious design with the marble....looks STELLAR! Thanks as always for posting up!
  • thankyou so much for posting these videos jd we love them. hey you got to post that baby rattle video. that one looked freaking visionary:D
  • at last
  • Great video! I came up with a knot similar to this one a few months ago...I tied a monkeys fist with five loops and then took the end strand a weaved it in and out of the knot both horizontally and vertically.
  • This is cool
