It's sad that Anne considered herself a fortunate author to have her book brought to the big screen and be good.... and then Queen of the Damned came, and ruined it all.

@charon7111 I know. It is unforunate for her. Anne said that all she wanted was to be involved in the production of the film and Warner Bros. kicked her to the curb when they made Queen of the Damned.

@Dank951 In anther interview with her she said that she actually begged them not to do it, but it was out of her control.

Stuff like that pisses me off when an author has 0 say so on how their book should be brought to the big screen. So many good books are ruined that way.

@charon7111 Yeah, she did beg them not to produce/film Queen of the Damned, she begged them to produce a film on The Vampire Lestat but (since the "Goth trend" was big in the late 90s/early 2000s) they wanted to make Queen of the Damned instead. They strayed far away from the book! I think all authors should be given producing credit; it gives them a say. Anne rice was very much involved in the production of Interview, that's probably why it was so good.

All the actors did an amazing job, kirsten dunst and tom cruise in particular were brilliant, this is a terrific movie i felt in love with it and............i think is too bad they didnt make a second movie with tom cruise as lestat and all....but this one rocks

I always saw Lestat as a very humoroaus character, even in the books "written" by him, his arrogance and bratty is quite funny, not really annoying like some characters, nor does it come off wimpy or emo. He even lampshades his wining and weeping in such a humorous manner, its like he enjoys being a brat and being the bane of other vampires existence. heck when he tried to burn himself in the sun in Tale of the body theif, survived and got a tan, that had me cracking up at the irony
