I have the same MS3... the stocked system sounds fine. It attracts enough attention to inform a person to WATCH OUT, but not enough to categorize ME into the stove PIPE rice pocket category. The only thing that IS WEAK with this car (I have the TOUR edition / NAV / BOSE SYSTEM) is the Bose sub inwhich I added a Customized 12" FI sub in the back.

@johnmgd .... the MS3 (Mazdaspeed3) STOCKED (factory) Exhaust system that comes with the car. Also I have the Grand Tour (there two models Sport or Grand Tour) with the 265-watt Bose® Centerpoint® Surround Sound System... the Bose subwoofer sucks. Not saying your exhaust is not good.... just saying I like it "As Is. Just like the Nissan's 350s, 370s... . etc.... MEAN but Still quiet.

with any modfication, in time you will have to deal with some sort of issue. in reality its buyer beware. none the less, i miss my 08 speed.

still the best sounding 4cyl car in North America imo :)

That's awesome. That's going to be my exact setup here when I get the money to get the Cobb DP and HKS CBE. I currently have a Cobb SRI + Cobb TIP, my car would almost then be complete! Well.. power mods that is.. Have you had any smoking issues or anything? How's your fuel pump doing? I hear with a DP, pressures start to drop and you're going to need to replace that..

Well I monitor my fuel pressure with my dashhawk while I drive and its fine.  Ive read as long as it doesnt drop below 1500psi during full throttle youre fine and my fuel pressure doesnt drop below 1600psi. So I dont have any plans to swap out my fuel pump at this time.

I have the AEM CAI and the Cobb TIP. THe TIP really made the sucking of the turbo loud. Its sounds like a tractor.

@johnmgd Oh I know! I love my Cobb TIP! I've been doing alot of research on a downpipe this weekend and everyone with the CP-E catted downpipe seem to have smoking issues but not many with the Cobb DP seem to have smoking issues.. I was just wondering if you have had any at idle?

Yes my car has developed smoking issues at idle but its been well over 10k miles since Ive had it on. I dont believe the Cobb downpipe is the reason for why my car started smoking.

Depends on car.

I have an 08 MS3 and had to replace my turbo at 20k miles. I only had an intake on it.

What causes the turbo's to start smoking is bad seals.

The 07-08 had a shitty turbo the 08.5+ have a newer reworked version of the same turbo.

I've had my CNT Catted Dp on for 30k+ miles and No smoking issues whatsoever..

(CNT is like Cobb but HALF the price)

A high flow cat keeps a little back pressure that our puny Ko4 needs.

I have the CNT racing Catted DP with the corksport Power series 3" CBE and had it on for just about a year (almost 20k miles) and NO SMOKING ISSUES.

Im'm Fully bolted and tuned..

There is so much more than what you stated above to make the car complete with power mods..

HPFP, Aftermarket intercooler, Cams, Accessport/protune, Intake Mani, Turbo Mani, Butterfly delete, Injectors, and more man..

IF you want it done, do it right..

Don't just start slapping parts on your car and not expect it to work right.

IF you do that, have some way of monitoring your car.

Otherwise BOOM BOOM Like 95% of the people on MSF.

Invest in an MSD DashHawk or an Cobb Accessport.

Best sounding speed 3 I have ever heard. By far. Not ridiculously loud and choppy sounding, but good and clean and smooth.

I dont know what youre trying to ask. If youre asking why I installed a downpipe with a cat its because no cats would cause more boost spikes. Also people complain of goofy smells in the cabin with a catless downpipe.
