i actually loved the first season of pop idol sooo much better than X factor the judges were better the presenters ant and dec were better and it didn't have all the sob stories it was just them singing loved it !

Just watching these Idol videos back and I forgot how good the first series was. Such a good mix of contestants and there was much more focus on the performances rather than needless sidestories and backbiting between the judges.

3 things I hate about X Factor The voice over guy, shouting his damn head off..the rude audience who shout and scream over the judges talking...and Dermot " I'm in charge " O'Leary.

Also..the ad breaks..far too many..get it on BBC.

And Louie Walsh is so childish.

@MelanieSmellany I agree. The early shows had a much higher standard. The judges even then let some great ones slip through the cracks back then too. I gave up on these shows years ago. Apart from the fact the best rarely did that well, it stands to reason the longer they go on the more likely it is the quality of auditionees would generally deteriorate. I always liked Rosie. It's a shame so many of the better contestants didn't go on to do great things...well mainstream-wise anyway.

@jlenoconel I stopped watching the shows regularly by then -esp by the time Alexandra Burke was on it-but what I did catch didn't really blow me away with one or two exceptions and they weren't necessarily LL and definitely not AB.

no rosie is living back in the uk after living in aussi for a few years where she did aussi idol over there, and she has had a baby its georgouse, i know rosie and her dad ron well she is working with EMI now writting x
