this for all you geniuses straight from USAW on snatching -- which barbell is placed horizontally in front of the lifter’s legs. It is gripped, palms downwards and pulled in a single movement from the platform to the fullextent of both arms above the head --- until you have actually 'lanced them up and competed on a platform feel free to 'zip it' --- that said any of you keyboard heros feel free to come on down to AZ and show me how it's done
This is definitely not a snatch at all. You should stop getting so defensive and learn how to do it. At least admit and realize this is in no way a snatch.
IMO too much muscle and not enough snatch. keep that weight moving linear, with a slow and strong dead lift type start and then get your jump not too early and not too late (you be falling forward or not optimizing the hips if you get it wrong)
Sorry dude, not a snatch. When teaching people to do this, I find it beneficial to give them a more challenging weight that forces them to use correct form. If they can just muscle it up with their shoulders (or swing it up in your case), they will...
Until one of you idiots actually lifts a weight in a legitimate o-lift meet and gets 'white lights' go pound sand -- then I will listento your brilliant snatch critique

Not a DB snatch.

That's not a snatch. A snatch requires you to move your entire bodyweight under the dumbell and then stand up straight.
