  • did you hear that the commentator sayed golfball? thumbs up if ya did!

  • @kuuston He meant to say it. Some sort of odd analogy but listen along to the rest of the sentance. Golf stuff

  • who cares anymore

  • @socc3rchamp no it didnt, the puck has to be completely over, and the smallest portion was still on the line.

  • didnt cross the line

  • @ScarFace9797 it fully crossed stop at 0:11

  • No goal, didnt cross line.

  • lol caddyshack

  • After Review I have Determane that the puck never stopped its foward motion and never came to a complete stop. The puck had FULLY Crossed the line therefor it is a GOAL

  • @coolman17701 to suggest that its moving at a golf balls pace

  • At 0:11 the puck can be seen clearly across the line when he kicks it back out.

  • this is a real bad mistakes from the goaler

  • Comment removed

  • Thumbs up if the ad blocked the puck once it was on the goal line?

  • @XxHxTxIxDxX nope....

  • wasn't a goal the puck had a few milometers

  • @theedit123 sorry but if you actually watched the game... it was a goal. Get your fact right buddy.

  • Denis Arkhipov was the 1 who disliked this

  • @coolman17701 its a reference to caddyshack the movie

  • Can't wait for hockey season..

  • haha their talking caddyshack lol

  • Goal.

  • Anyone else notice that the announcer said "He was watching the fuck, he had his eye beaded right on the puck. There is no doubt about it." LOL! Good clit, errr, I mean clip. :)

  • puck never fully crosses the line

  • Goal.

  • That really blows if your the goalie lmaooo

  • @Lindylax821 why are you laughing your ass off off off?

  • @coolman17701

he was making a reference as to how the announcers in golf watch the ball 100% until it sinks into the hole or stop ( watching the puck until it crosses the goal line or stops )

  • The puck didn't cease to be moving and the player didn't touch the puck after the first shot, stop the video at 0:11 sec mark and right before the goaltenders pad hits the puck you can see white on the left side of the puck, from THIS angle its a goal

  • Nice to see the goalie keeping his poker face.

  • the puck never stopped motion but didnt cross the line completley

  • the goolie stopped the puck, held it then dropped it to the ground as he was getting up

  • The puck wasn't even in....

  • i don't understand to this day how this goal is controversial. it's simple physics. watch him, the goalie moves backward. since the puck is continually moving afterward, and no forward force was exerted on the puck, there's no force that has stopped the object. it's constantly moving. as for if it crosses the line, pause at the latest moment before he touches it, full screen the video, and there is without a doubt white space between the puck and the line. no dispute. GOAL.

  • @Fundamenski You can't say that for sure, though. It's reasonable to assume the goalie stopped the puck, then that the forward motion was triggered by him pulling his glove backwards (which fully covered the puck) rather than the goalie never actually making contact with the puck.

  • @Fundamenski Youre an idiot. Dont talk about physics like you know something.

  • @vvbn7890 more than you, friend.

  • @Fundamenski Clearly not. Explain using vector theory why the puck magically accelerated off the guys stick, traveled at a high velocity, then came to a near screeching halt right before the goal line, but continued to go in.

You said "No force that has stopped the object"....Have you met our dear friend Newton? "Objects in motion will stay in motion unless acted upon by another force." Sure theres friction, but not nearly enough to slow the puck that much. SO tell me, what slowed it down?

  • @vvbn7890 Theres a 170-200 pound goaltender standing in the crease . . .

  • @x30xSabresFan Thats exactly the point I am trying to illustrate for the half wit who thinks otherwise. Thank you for reminding me though, your input is invaluable

  • @x30xSabresFan no dip sherlock

  • @TheFourFingers11 No one was talking to you douche so go play in traffic

  • @x30xSabresFan Care to join me fellow asshole

  • @Fundamenski yes from this angle it appears that there is space, but i am quite sure that it is controversial because of this angle, when they reviewed it, they used the overhead cam and it didn't completely cross the line

  • YES FIRST DISLIKE!

  • nobody knows that the puck fully stopped so cant say anything.. referees decision.

  • @OGEwoke naw, there is a NHL director who gets to watch the video and judge if it's a goal or not, he has q whole bunch of different screen and cameras to review it

  • I'm a goalie.. If that puck did fully cross the line, it's a good goal. Puck wasn't dead yet.

  • oh you're chicago fans, makes sense now.

  • Is everybody blind? That doesn't cross the line you fucking idiots, how is it a goal?

  • @MrGanon00 wow calm down man. the puck did go all the way across the line right before the goalie hit's it with his foot. it's extremely close though so don't act like your side of the argument should be completly obvious unless someones an idiot.

  • @danhabsfan9 only from this angle it appears to cross the line, it actually doesn't tho

  • Good goal in my opinion. The goalie didn't actually stop the puck because the puck still went into the net and crossed the line. Funny how that works?

  • @13thforswarn Lol, are you stupid? I'm a goalie. He stopped the puck, and it somehow still glided and made its way into the net. He did STOP the puck.Idiot.

  • NO GOAL. puck is dead after shot and it is obtained by the goalie there is no rebounds in a shootout.

  • @NERFPICTURES It ain't a rebound.. How can you call it a dead puck, if the dead puck went, without any action with the player, in the net?

I agree with the title, it's controversial, but I'd personally call it a goal (if the puck fully passed the line)

  • Have everyone hate on the hawks like usuall

  • didn't see the puck crossing the goal line the first time cuz the fuckin ad popped up -.-

  • fail

  • go to like :11 and keep hitting play and pause. at one point you can see some white in front of the puck

  • @hockey90 snow is white, and there's alot of snow especially around the crease and goaline from the goalie. Makes it even harder to discriminate.

  • @skydome29 definetely a good goal but still..

  • @stardustie My thinking is the nhl should have a camera (pinhole) on the bottom of the crossbar that pans down across the entire goaline.

  • @skydome29 that shit would be wrecked after two games.

  • @hockeyyismylife What are you even saying

  • @hockeyforever89

True, but too bad the whole puck didn't cross the line.

    NO GOAL.

  • i didn't see it the first time cause the ad was in the way

  • @krzie18 me too

  • No goal, the puck was alive but it never fully crossed the line.

  • You gotta understand, the line is big in real life, and sometimes video can't capture miraculous, physics defying events

  • I dunno if it ENTIRELY crossed the line. Which is important minutae

  • i think the puck was stopped under the goalie... but as the goalie sat up and stood up it moved the puck, it has happened to me twice before.

  • The Puck did NOT cross the line and go into the net, therefore,it is NOT a goal, plain and simple!!!

  • @Foolishpleazure That would be a fine argument except for one thing... it DID cross the line, so it WAS a goal

  • @w33man2009 No because it was disallowed

  • @w33man2009 To be a goal, the puck MUST no longer touch the goal line, and as he quicked it out, it was still in contact with the red line. It was a good call.

  • an over head angle would help, from this angle your eyes play tricks on u the puck could be over the line but the angle makes it look like its not, from this angle just as the goalie is about to kick it u can see a little wight inbetween the puck and the line

  • Unlike in American football, where a touchdown is scored if any part of the football crosses any part of the goal line, in ice hockey the entire puck must completely cross the goal line (within the goal frame) for a goal to be awarded (wikipedia). It was close but if we had HD zoom or a different camera angle, it would have been clearer. The blurry -ness makes it look like a no goal.

  • in soccer the ball must be entirely over the line to count as a goal. in hockey majority of the puck has to be over the line ot count. => if more than half the puck crosses the line, which it did, then its a goal.

  • @spidey1228 No, that's not true. In hockey, it must also completely cross the line. Case in point, the no goal that was reviewed during one of the blackhawks stanley cup losses this year. It was the overtime one.

  • @spidey1228 no it's not...the whole puck must cross

  • @spidey1228 fail...i think u need to read the rule again :)

  • @spidey1228 ahhh ha hah ah ha ha ha ha ha ha thats funny maybe you should be a ref or a replay official

  • @spidey1228

    LOL ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

The whole puck has to cross the line, just like in your beloved soccer.

    Learn the rules dummy.

  • @spidey1228 wow man. you are just plain retarded if you think that. jesus christ.

  • Puck must be completely across the line = u must be able to see white space between the puck and the line. Can't see that in this video.

  • @gman1868 yes u can

  • @gman1868 well hd would help this video is shit

  • the whole puck has to cross the line to be good i remember this was called a no goal

  • @1219sharks No not the whole puck a bit of it has to cross to be a goal

  • @mariotitto no your a little fucktard you know that. the whole puck must cross the whole line for it to light the lamp. go play a sport where you know the rules you fucking queer.

  • @AquaGiant Listen here you no good pissy ingrate many goals count even if a bit of it is over the line get your facts straight before coming like a big shot fucking dumbass on Youtube calling me names

  • @mariotitto Oh im sorry 5 year olds are totally looking up these videos and reading these comments. anyways go find me a hockey rule book that doesn't say every bit of the puck must cross over the goal line to be a goal.

  • @1219sharks dumb refs

  • @1219sharks it did cross the line completely..LOL! but oh wells..im not a fan of either of the teams so whatever :P

  • @1219sharks The whole puck is across the line.

  • @1219sharks no just a square centimeter can cross

  • @jodady71 Are you crazy? The whole puck has to cross the line for it to be called a goal.

    Directly from the NHL rulebook:

78.4 Scoring a Goal - A goal shall be scored when the puck shall have been put between the goal posts by the stick of a player of the attacking side, from in front and below the crossbar, and entirely across a red line the width of the diameter of the goal posts drawn on the ice from one goal post to the other with the goal frame in its proper position.

  • well over half the puck crossed that line, obvious goal

  • Tough to tell from the angle if it was in or not. Angles can always be misleading. If there was an overhead view we would have known 100%.

  • NO GOAL the puck is a sphere so if you see a white space it doesnt mean that it's a fucking goal bitch

NO GOAL FUCK GO HABS GO

  • a sphere is a ball. the puck is not a ball. habs will be swept in the first round again this year.

  • @MsImdoingyourmom lol habs

  • This is definitely a goal. If it hits the goalie anywhere and it bounces in, it counts, and this is no different.

  • the whole puck did not cross

  • Yeah, the puck crosses the line due to its initial momentum, with no influence from Arkhipov. That def. should be a goal.

  • goal

  • It wasn't a rebound, they player never touched it again after the initial shot. The play is dead when the puck stops.

    GOAL.

  • @hockeyforever89 the only issue is did the puck completely cross? kinda tough to tell from there

  • @hockeyforever89 No goal, no matter how they stopped it, the goalie stopped it. Right before ALL of it went over.

  • @hockeyforever89 no the play is dead when the refs blow it dead

  • @hockeyforever89 but the ref probably blew the whistle, we didnt get any audio of the game

  • its a goal

u are pretty much saying that the puck cannot hit the goalie for it to be a goal

if the goalie were to catch and fall into the net its a goal. so this is the same its just that the puck was on the ice

  • goal

  • isnt that roloson in net?

  • its manny fernandez

  • When was the whistle blown? In the end, that's what counts the most.

  • Not really because its when the ref intended to blow the whistle

  • the problem was a review wasn't even given

  • yes there was

  • geez. that sucks.

  • goal you can see white all around the puck

  • No Goal imo but wish there was a overhead

  • No goal, it didn't completely cross. It was still just barely on the line.

  • You could see white.

  • I remember watching this live the puck was off of the ground.

  • didnt even go all the way accross?

  • NOPE no goal

  • GOAL!!!!!!

  • no goal

  • I don't think it's a goal. I'm no expert or anything, but I wouldn't allow that as a goal, because it seems to me that the puck crossed the goal line after the initial play, making the puck dead.

  • pause at 0:13 it's in the net fully.

  • didn't cross the line

  • 0:11 it looks like it got all the way across the line before he kicked it out.

  • goal

  • hes so chill when he kicks it away

  • never crossed teh line...sorry pal

  • it did. I may be wrong though. I think half of it crossed the line, which wouldn't count as a goal.

  • Can go in either way

  • ooo thats a goal

  • it was just 3/4 over the line

    no goal

but regardless, goalie pulled a bacon lol

  • GOAL. the puck went over the line. P.S. you can argue both ways

  • 0:11 clearly a goal

  • no doubt that was a goal

  • it wasn't over the line watch carefuly

  • HAAH. what a terd

  • no goal

  • it was not given a goal as the play had been blown dead.

  • i dont think it went over the whole line

  • When the wistle blows, the play is over. This is why deaf people aren't allowed to play sports. The game would never end...ha!

  • it was no goal. i saw it! plus the wild won

    yeah!!!!!!!!!

  • Hard to see from that angle if he made the save or not. He did alter the puck's direction but did not have the puck in control. On the flip side, there are no rebounds allowed in shootouts or penalty shots. Tough call.

  • and the rebound shot is...where?

  • it was a penalty shot

  • the puck is still moving backwards...goalie never stops it...goal!

  • how was that no goal?

  • so what did the zebras rule it? goal or no goal?

  • It went in, but he saved it first.

    No goal.

  • it doesn't matter if he saved it first it's still a goal if he accetendly put it in the net it is ruled as a goal

  • ru dumb its still a goal have u ever seen the one on lundquvist how he gets hit in glove and tries to swat it out after it pops out but stil goes in same hting

  • no goal... he made the save

  • idiot it is a goal no problem u make a save and it goes in in a real game its in in a shoot out 2

  • what are you talking about he made the goal didn't you see the puck go in.

  • he should have got that but it was *NO* goal

  • Hahaha acting like the shootout was over..

  • HaHa...GO BLACKHAWKS!

  • it obvisly went in'

  • It's hard to see from that angle, mainly because the puck disappears.

  • He thought it went all the way in and all the way out, he kicked it out...hehe he said on a podcast that he was screaming at himself to get the puck when he was watching the replay. (said by himself manny fernandez) on hockey unplugged

You can subscribe to Minnesota Wild podcasts at i tunes thats where I listened to it...Hockey unplugged #8 with brent burns and manny...

    go wild!!!

  • I watched this a couple times. At first I thought It was a goal but then It looks like the puck stopped and as the goalie was getting up he hit it with his glove in which would make it no goal. dead play

  • its a goal, he cant put in his own rebound, but the puck is live until the ref blows his whistle

  • NO GOAL...

  • No Goal the Goalie Made The Save And Stood Up And The Puck slide For 3 Seconds Into the Net it Couldnt Of Been Helped

  • Puck was never in the goalies control, the puck was still live, it's a goal.

  • he thought it went then he was like oh shit!

    lol

    it looked in to me

  • definetly no goal

  • he must of thot he was already beat, and thot the puck slid back from the netting. i
