I know I'm going to get hate for this, but I really feel like this song was a tiny bit of a wasted opportunity. It's got a great riff that could have been utilized to a much fuller potential. And although this is one of the greatest drum solos ever, it still takes up 3/4 of the song. I don't like any kind of solo to be that long. I'm not saying Led Zeppelin is wrong or anything - this is their vision for the song, and it's great, but I'm also a bit disappointed. I'd just like some balance.

@TheBaafarang There has always been this issue. People think that the music 20-50 years older is the only true music, and people who just happen to like the new music. Even in the 60's and 70's. Not everyone liked the mainstream music back then, there were still people, thinking that "Them youngin's are some goddamn dirty hippies, who need to learn som goddamn discipline!". There has been, and will always be that issue. Not everyone can get along, it's impossible.

After the death of drummer John Bonham on September 25th, John Paul Jones, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page felt their friend and fellow band member was irreplaceable. I think 'Moby Dick' is Bonham's signature solo performance, showcasing his amazing drumming skills.
