After Powerslave Dickenson showed he could not do anything all that original or varied. Still a great singer though. DiAnno was a much more soulful guy. I love the first two Maiden albums, and in retrospect find that they have a diversity that you do not find on the later stuff.

I would rate Dickinson on the same level of genius as Nikola Tesla, Rembrandt. I have heard Bruce is a very good soccer(football) player and also does fencing. I think the most interesting aspect of Iron Maiden is the many historical info in the lyrics. Steve Harris is an excellent song writer as well!!

Supposedly Adrian left because he didn't like the direction the band was taking at the time. My only guess as to why they didn't dismiss Janick when Adrian returned was, hey why not keep him? This way they have three very talented guitarists, he's been a longtime friend of the band, and in live performances all songs from their huge discography can sound true to their studio recordings because every guitarist is present. Plus, perhaps Maiden's future musical direction warrants three guitarists.

Supposedly Adrian left because he didn't like the direction the band was taking at the time. My only guess as to why they didn't dismiss Janick when Adrian returned was, hey why not keep him? This way they have three very talented guitarists, he's been a longtime friend of the band, and in live performances all songs from their huge discography can sound true to their studio recordings because every guitarist is present. Plus, perhaps Maiden's future musical direction warrants three guitarists.
