  • This actually makes good micspam

  • Never been so easy!?

  • The Secret of Epicness

  • Oh yeah, and even though it#s a Sega Cd game, it comes in one of these awesome LucasArts Pc Adventure Cardboxes.

  • "A graphic adventure game has never been so easy"

Hmmm.... I think the 11 year old boy I was 14 years ago who barely knew any English and finally completed it after months of stubborn, frustrated anger would disagree.

But hey, it was worth it. These games taught me English. And I became a Monkey Island and Lucasarts adventure games fan for life.

  • @rigstula I played it in German back then. There was this magazine in Germany called "Bestseller Games". They were really cheap, always had these games on CD and a walkthrough. But using those would be cheating. The game was really hard.

  • If the Sega CD had all the SCUMM games, I would have actually bought one.

  • Seriously, when will today's game designers start focusing on artistic values again? I'm just wishing for the day when real-time 3D graphics has reached such a high level that it cannot be improved notably, forcing the game developers to start exploring the artistic side again.

Just look at this game's script! And the humorous quality and timing that the clean pixel-based character expressions and text-only dialogues contribute to. It's not the number of pixels that made this game big.

  • @Wintran Games like Odin Sphere put emphasis on story telling and graphics. And point'n'clicks have a comback where I'm at.

  • Thanks for the video. These were the good times...

  • I didn't know sega CD games had any standers at all.

  • Sega... hehe... cute. ^_^ Monkey Island rules!

  • Imagine if they did TV adverts for tales of Monkey Island or the Secret of Monkey Island remake, I would die if i saw monkey isalnd on tv.

  • yeah they should adverts more even if it's only on G4 i love these games and a vampyre story but only first found the 3rd in a demo and saw the 4th in eb shopping when i started these games and a vampyre story on youtube same for a vampyre story 2 a bats tale

  • only the biggest cd could hold it hahah

  • saga cd

  • this game rocks!!

  • Damn... I guess my old Intellivision won´t cut it...

  • I wonder if the PS3 can handle this...

  • never

  • Nope but the xbox 360 can =P

....(Joke on it being released on the 360, not a troll)

  • fucking loved it. got goose bumps.

  • i got more than goose bumps...

  • Is it Tay Zonday speaking? :)

  • I don`t think my computer has enough memory to run this game.

  • No, something else must be the problem, It's an old game and doesn't take that much ram really. If not something is broken? have u tried vaske printeren.

  • lol i think he was being sarcastic

  • So was Socraton since "vaske printeren" means wash the printer lol

  • You, my friend, need a SEGA CD!

  • @I1Peric Thats ok, because this is a Sega CD game!

  • it comes out in july

  • and the amiga could not hold it, because in this version the audio tracks come directly from cd, which sound a LOT better than amiga sound.

  • Wow, that looks cool. When does it come out?

  • It just came out, go get it!

  • it came out in 1990 lol

  • Ignore herramatias91 !!! It came out 5 minutes ago !

  • ignore all of them, this game is coming out 1 year later

  • keep telling yourself that

  • When it's finished.

  • We never had any TV spots for such games. :(

  • The Secret of Money Island is my favorite game ever!! xD...so many fond memories. I've only played MI on the PC though but thanks for posting this vid.

  • Awesome! But this has the MI2 HUD.

  • As did the PC reissue of it in 94! A better version i think.

  • C00L! nice vid

  • A game so big only the Sega CD could hold it? Apart from the Amiga that is. It doesn't matter that it had to be put on about 7 discs (and the second game on about 12). The Amiga could still support the game. So the advert is wrong.

  • and pc diskette also, although the amiga version had more colors \resolution\better sound, so if you had harddisk on amiga it was superior. This is probably one of the later CD versions (rereleases) with cd audio etc?

  • amiga version more colors? no, less colors. 256 vs. 32

  • actually the sega cd had 64 colors

  • why did someone give him minus 2? it looks identical to the amiga version which i played. as one person said perhaps the music is of a slightly higher quality but anyway all these sega console releases after the genesis/mega drive failed miserably

  • lol zomg how old would that ad be! lol god i miss monkey island.. :'( good times...Good grog :P

  • oooohhhh GREAT!!!!!

  • old school, like it very much, not only the game also this vid.

  • Yeah, this is the real deal. I remember a ton of tv spots like this... matter of fact, I still have some videos which have old advertisements just like this. These were very common.

  • Never played it on Sega CD, but I remember playing this on my 486/DX/66. I miss those days. (sigh)

  • are there anymore trailer/tvspots or such stuff of monkey island 1?

its my favourit game of all time!

  • It's definately real, this is the movie announcer guys voice. He is one of a kind. O.o

  • good save guybrush...

  • WOW!!!

  • The only reason why it took the Sega CD for a Genesis port of the game was because of the music in CD redbook format. Otherwise, a cart could've been managed using the Yamaha chipset in the Genny.

  • Wow, didn't know, there were TV spots!

  • Is this real or self made? because if it's selfmade, its pretty darn good.

  • It's real

  • @Nalghati um... yes have you ever heared of monkey island?
