  • ITS SO CUTTTTTTTTE!!!!!!!:) ps i love cats

  • My dreamjob! :)

  • his tooth didnt grow back :(

  • He's gorgeous! :D

  • @WhitePanther18 His eyes were protected by a lubricant throughout the procedure :)

  • the poor boy! he's so cute and pretty!

  • He reminds me of the creatures off of Dark Crystal.

  • 75 thousand for him.....

  • NOPE! Chuck Testa

  • did you keep the tooth? is tonga soft?

  • @felinefriend124 Yes, we kept the tooth and yes Tonga was soft, more coarse than a domestic cat though :)

  • why dont you treat the tooth endodontically!?

  • @tombalata From what I read on the internet just now: Endodontic therapy is a sequence of treatment for the pulp of a tooth which results in the elimination of infection. We wouldn't want to keep sedating Tonga to do this procedure multiple times, sedating any animal especially cats is very tricky and there's always the chance that they could react badly to the sedation and not wake up. So we sedated Tonga once solved the problem in one fell swoop :)

  • He's so STRETCHY

  • wow i fort there was only white lions & white tigers

  • Such a gorgeous cat! WTG Guys for helping with that tooth issue. One thing, though...at 1:42 TOnga looks as if to say, "Oh wow, man that's some good stuffs. Teh colors...teh colors...wow..." Had to laugh out loud at that. Probably makes me sick, but he was not feeling any pain.

  • He's got a mean look in his eyes. Haha.

  • What a beautiful cat !

Great job accessing what needed to be done & great handling. Squeeze cage what a great idea !

  • lol when the cat woke up it was proly like

cat: what the fu- oh the tooth fairy...yessss

to this day he never received his money :'(

  • Poor guy. When he woke up I wonder how he reacted when he noticed a tooth was gone.

  • Poor baby had a bad tooth ache! :( Beautiful cat though! I never knew they could be white.

  • poor litle animal im glad hes ok

  • 1:40 wat i looked like last night lol

  • How do you feed him with a rat? Does he practise his hunting skills with a rat?

  • @SimonCU We feed our cats whole prey once weekly, it's an important part of their diet. They are always fed dead rats, our cats do not need to practice hunting for a life in captivity.

  • Oh my gosh- Tonga is adorable. I really want to visit you guys sometime. Do you do tours?

  • @Poltergeisteater Yep, if you visit our website: BigCatRescue*org you'll be able to find all the tour times and info :)

  • @BigCatRescue Sweet! Thank you<3

  • would tonga just be white just cos of a genetic thing or would it be something else

  • that looks very painful

  • from the thumbnail, i really thought it looked like a white bat!

  • It's interesting she talks about the canine teeth on a feline animal...

Hehe, just a slip I guess, they are doing great work!

  • @Coletje They are often referred to as canine teeth in felines as well, plus it's easier for viewers to understand what were talking about in the video :)

  • @Coletje Not only that, but they are referred to as canine teeth in humans as well. They're the 'vampire teeth' next to your front incisors!

  • that cat has an oddly shaped head, also when i saw them operating on its mouth it made my own mouth hurt.

  • just out of curiosity, how would one become a "purr-sonnel" at this facility?

  • @PhantomWerewolf We usually hire from our volunteer force, so you would need to volunteer and keep your fingers crossed that there would be a vacancy in the future.

  • did she just say canine teeth . it's feline teeth by what i know?

  • @cookie8805 it's actually called a cuspid, but it's usually called a canine tooth. lots of carnivores and omnivores have them, including us.

  • @cookie8805 Guess you don't know.

  • @Poseidon500 didn't think I was required to know.

  • @cookie8805 ALL are require to know dagnabbit! ; ) ALL MUST KNOW!!!

  • That cat was so high, hahaha

  • That cat is lonely as hell. Get it a friend.

  • hey i love your videos may I ask what makes this cat so Rare? and is it A hunter? Hope you have time to aswer my Questions

    Thank You

    ~Alex~

  • @cat12811 There are only two white servals that we know of in the world. Yes, all cats are hunters :)

  • @BigCatRescue WOW only 2 and thank you =)

  • If there are white servals, can they be melanistic (black) too?

  • @Dyrva Yes, there have been reports of them in the wild and I've seen photos.

  • @BigCatRescue Oh, that's cool. I've never seen even pictures of em before. I might have to look that up some time :D

  • I love your videos, I am studying to be a vet technician so these videos certainly help me with visual examples of certain procedures! :)

  • @shanski2011 Glad we can help :)

  • A very beautiful cat, but then, aren't they all?

  • He looks like he lost some weight when his tooth hurt him. Now he's purrrfect again. Is this a form of albinism?

  • @jannisares No, Tonga has blue/green eyes and some golden spots on his back. The white color is a result of a recessive gene.

  • He looks like he lost some weight when his tooth hurt him. Now he's purrrfect again. Are the white servals able to survive in the wild, or would they perish like a white lion would?

  • So is this a natural or like one of those mutated animals like the black leopard

  • @TheSkullcrusher73 White servals occur naturally but are extremely rare and would not survive in the wild.

  • *wince* Ouch... Poor Serval!

  • Aww, that looks like it would've hurt! I'm glad it was handled well, and he wasn't in pain right after waking up. Glad he's okay now!

  • Are these white servals a subspecies of the normal serval, like white tigers, or are they albinos?

  • can i pet it?

  • @elpickle123 No we don't allow contact with the cats ...

  • Get over it, Tonga is fine.

  • If I was a vet I wouldnt carry Tonga the way she did in 1:22 even if it doesn't hurt the pet.

  • @llMurcielagoll

thats becouse just in case the cat didnt get any affect from sedation the cat cant hurt them TOO easily.

  • I love these videos. So informative and gut-wrenching but with happy endings. =)

  • Where exactly did this cat come from?

  • @ebolaoutkast He was born at the sanctuary back in the 90's by accident, this was a time when we were struggling to separate cats into their own enclosures and fix the cat to prevent them from breeding

  • Wow!! I've never seen any animal like THAT before !! Its so cool !!

  • awesome! I wish I could work there!

  • i wanna be a vet <3

  • Where can u find these types of cats ?

  • @tacticalkoshka You pay me to play with cats? At the sanctuary.

  • He's beautiful! Glad you were able to help him!

  • I NEED A JOB SAVING CATS!

  • @japimportssuck I would love that job too.

  • so CUTE!!! I love these animals. :}

  • you guys are my favrit resucu survis

  • @tacticalkoshka Thanks!

  • were is big cat rescue???

  • @lizrocks31 Tampa, Florida :)

  • @kanzu121 Do what?

  • @BigCatRescue that cut of its tooth and make him miss his mouth part you idiotas!

  • @BigCatRescue your mom.

  • he looks lonly.. you should put him with more cats like him

  • @ASAFYY Servals are solitary by nature, as is every cat species except for the lion.

  • He's a beauty. :)

  • WTF WAS WRONG WITH HIS TOOTH?!?

  • @GabeB101 Tonga broke his tooth somehow, either on a bone or chewing on something in his enclosure.

  • looks like a huge house cat

  • I really love what you guys are doing. I am going to dedicate a portion of my pay to donate to BCR! =]

  • I want it

  • She did such a good job ...I'd even trust her to extract my tooth if necessary!

  • How old is Tonga?

  • DENTAL PLAN!

  • DENTAL PLAN!

  • you guys are heroes :)

  • omg, r u sure Tonga's metabolism is really strong? I thought this serval was underweight...

  • @lion1987queen Yes, Tonga can eat much more than the other servals and doesn't seem to gain weight, but I assure you he has a healthy appetite :)

  • @lion1987queen There meant to be that way

  • gorgeous

  • Aww! That sounds so painful! (the exposed pulp cavity) :(

  • what did you do with the broken tooth?

  • @MizukiSalvatoreSL we keep it for reference/example etc...

  • Oh, :/

Who esle thought they were going to use a blow dart? lol

  • Is the tooth grow back???

  • @DarkGlobusO No the teeth don't grow back, this isn't a problem for Tonga, he's in captivity and doesn't use his canine teeth to eat :)

  • @BigCatRescue He has other teeth. Heh. =P

  • 1:04 Let me out guys! :( Poor thing

  • is it just me or does tonga look very very thin?

  • @gfriklmm8 He as always been this way, he has an high metabolism even though we feed him more than the other servals

  • i would like to volunteer with you, but i am still on high school, also, i dont think its a good job for me, when i see any tipe of cat, i want to hug it XD

  • @slasheitor me too! :X:X:X

  • I love how lanky he is!

  • holy crap! those are LONG legs!!!

  • Watched on TV the other night that folks are breeding this species of cat with domestic cats and, in four generations, you have a very large house cat that looks like Tonga but a little tamer. Personally, these designer breeders shouldn't be allowed to sell to the general public because these big cats can breed after four generations. The feral kitten mixes would be HUGE and much more a problem than regular feral cats. All my cats are strays or shelter kittens, but a stray like that...well...

  • @snocamo154 Yes, these hybrids are bred by people who do not care about animal welfare, they only care about making money. What happens to all the previous generations that are not wanted and what happens to all these hybrids when people discover they are still very much wild and no longer want them after spending thousands of dollars on them?? People are much better off rescuing a domestic cat from a shelter, save a life and get a real pet :) Thanks for commenting !!

  • @BigCatRescue This is tragic... with only two left, how is the species going to survive? Are they a seperate species or is a white serval like a white tiger?

  • They should make kitty dentures lol. Most rescued animals have bad teeth :( my rescued dog has perodontal (or however its spelled) disease but since he has a heart murmur he can't go under anestia. All the vet could do was give him some antibiotics to cure his gum infections and then he gets specials treats that prevent the problem from getting worse. I'm looking into a non-anastetic treatment for him though cause his teeth and gums are pretty bad.

  • At 1:51, why are you shaving the serval's leg?

  • @emilygclarinet This was in order to take a blood sample etc...

  • that's exactly what my cat had - it must have been so painful for the little fella - well done team

  • Do they taste like chicken?

  • Aww he is so so thin! :o

  • Uhm, wtf does this have to do with youtube poop

  • You do not have to remove the cat's teeth. A mixture of sea salt, olive, tea tree and coconut oil as a tooth paste will heal his cavity. Obviously, it would take time and would have to be done a few times a day, preferably after meals for a few years. Clove oil is also safe for cats and that is also known to heal cavities

  • @AmethystAscension This is obviously something we could not do, so the best option for Tonga was to remove the whole tooth :)

  • @AmethystAscension You can't heal a cavity...are you retarded? Have you ever gone to the dentist?

  • @AmethystAscension I've heard of using clove oil on a cottonball as a temporary way to relieve tooth pain, but you can't reverse a cavity. And using that stuff as toothpaste for a few *years* to try to heal a cavity? I can't imagine how much pain he'd been in while waiting for that treatment to work. They did the right thing.

  • Beautiful cat!! I'm glad he's not in any pain :3

  • Thanks for the description of how you get the tooth out, very interesting!

  • Is that type of cat dangerous? Will it try and hurt you? Im asking cause of the squeeze cage.

  • @UltimateDarkSim Yes, all wild cat species are dangerous and unpredictable, even some domestic cats I know are dangerous too! We have to be very careful when working around these cats, they may look cute and cuddly but this can change very quickly !!

  • you're so inspiring. such respect for you all. everyone should appreciate these animals. I just donated $100 to you. please keep helping these cats and thank you :)

  • @jaytay161616 Thank you, we do our best and thank you so much for donating and supporting the cats !!

  • i had a dream about a pure white serval before i even knew they existed, i dreamt we had one and we also had a leopard. her name was toyota in my dream and i woke up and googled the description of her because i wanted to see if i could find anything similar. i found african servals but no white ones until now and i had this dream over a year ago.

  • what kind of cat is that?

  • i have a question.I have a gray/white HUGE cat and he kinda looks like a serval..hes even almost as big as one!He eats alot to,and it realy effects my parents budget! We found he and his sister outside in a dumpster at mcdonalds on a rainy afternoon...Do you think this could be possible for him to be a serval?

  • Same here dude if i had money i would donate it mostly to organizations that help neglected abused or abandoned animals but im broke as hell :(

  • Wow. Thats exactly like my Persian cat. They have to put him under Anastasia.... so they can shave him. Once they had to put a cone on him. :)

  • Does he carry a leucestic gene in him and if so does he have any offspring/siblings that also carry it?

  • @UrMumzAGuy It's a recessive gene that cause the white coloring, they still have some golden/brown patches, Tonga as been neutered and we do not breed at BCR as this would be adding to the problem of more cats living in cages.

  • @BigCatRescue I understand about your non breeding policy but does he have any offspring from his previous home or before you had the no breeding policy?

  • @UrMumzAGuy No, Tonga was actually born at BCR back in the early 90's when we were known as Wildlife on Easy Street, under the advice of other people we bred some of our cats before we knew any better and realized this was just adding to the problem of big cats living in cages for life.

  • Whats the ice thing they lick?

  • @Gabi59ful That was as "blood-cicle" YUM!

  • Someone offered 75,000 to what buy him? like they walked in and there said i want that one how much..crazy~ness :/

  • @MissGis01 It was most probably a breeder who would have used Tonga to create more white servals and savannah cats to sell in the "pet" trade :(

  • 1:31 all that tought bout Vault-Tech thums up

  • such a beautiful one, i like these kind of jobs :)<3

  • Wait is that a albino serval?

  • @bigcatwildlife No, the coloring is just due to a recessive gene, Tonga has blue/green eyes and still has some darker spots on his body :)

  • what a beautiful cat :D

  • awwww.... Thats soo cute! He looks old, how old is he?

  • @smilyxcutyxxwarriors Tonga is 13 years old :)

  • @BigCatRescue is that old for a cat like him?

  • 1:44 i wish i could get that high

  • Thank you for taking care of the animals. =)

  • I second this.

  • It look like a pet kitty.

  • So, that's longcat ?

  • he doesn't live all by himself does he? any other servals sharing that lakeside property?

  • why would someone abandon one of only two white servals in the world?

  • @maximum411 The two servals were accidental births at the sanctuary back in the early 90's before we realized that breeding cats was not helping cats in the wild and we focused on rescuing more cats instead.

  • @BigCatRescue

    ah ok thanks

  • dentist scare the living hell out of me.....

  • do k9 teeth grow back?

  • @Keeneyes4utube No, it may have put Tonga at a disadvantage in the wild but he is in captivity and will be fine :)

  • whats the max height a serval can jump? i heard 8ft

  • @Keeneyes4utube Yes they can jump at least 8ft !!

  • Oh wow! It kind of reminded me of piggies but dont mind that xDD

These cats are indeed pretty too . Only people with no hearts hate animals.
