Take John Lennon for example...he had almost the same upbinging as Cobain did: his dad abandoned him and his mom, his mother really didn't want him yet look what John became. Sure, John took drugs and had depressed moments but he turned that depression into energy that helped fuel his musical ambitions becoming of the greatest singer/songwriters ever! I could tell by the time the album In Utero came out that Cobain and Co. was completely out of steam and Cobain was lost, so "hello shotgun!"
