Everything he discusses in this song is speaking about how sick and stupid human beings are and the the thigns we do, including getting abortions... Cohen dispises humanity, read about his life, he lived in seclusion, he is just sitting back, watching as we die

As an atheist I'm not so enthusiastic about biblical phrases he so often uses. His most popular songs are not my favorites, like "dance me..." and "halleluja". I like "future", "partisan song" (which isn't his song) and "so long Marianne" which has a great female choir just like "future".

In Poland ab. is illegal. That does not prevent polish women having abortions in Poland or abroad, or thru hasardous home remedies. In the USA ab. rate is also high but it won't go down if the religious and partly violent anti-ab. movement gets it's way. Sick of religious references as a whole.
