I think if you could be bothered to check your history/statistics you would find that there were more southern Irish/dual nationality citizens in the British forces than ever came from the "loyal North" who mostly hid in reserved occupations in the shipyards etc and threatened the UK govt with full cooperation with the Nazis (let's face it they had a lot in common) if they didn't get their own way.
