Good god...can ANYONE on this planet watch a movie and NOT comment about it on a song featured in it? American Psycho is an amazing film with a great soundtrack...but damn. Everyone understands by now that these songs were featured in the movie. A few good comments here are there is fine, sure...but hundreds, even thousands? Give it a rest.
@MegaMacTV I don't know about it being an amazing film, but its kinda funny all these comments about the movie. Part of me was freakin positive that the two top comments would be about the movie.
I'm (not that) aged and I llike PC. I also like EC and my sister reckons she'd rather fancy father christmas. Giveme Eric any time. In fact, I adore EC (a fact kept from my darling boyfriend).
The main lyric came about as Collins was improvising lyrics to a drum machine track he had programmed: "suss-sussudio" was a wording that scanned improperly. After trying to find an alternative word to fit the rhythm, the singer decided to keep "Sussudio" as the song title and lyric. Collins has said that he "improvised" the lyric. Collins was just playing around with a drum machine, and the lyric "sus-sussudio" was what came out of his mouth.
2:09 "I know that I'm too young, my life has just begun..." He must smile now when he comes to that part. Time passes for us all. The time between is no time at all. In my 20's it irked me a bit to be carded for booze. If it happened now, it would make my day. But it doesn't happen.
acutally I heard the title of the song comes from the noise the hi hats make, when you play the sticks on them as you move them up and down.. having said that I also heard it was a word he liked that means nothing..doesn't really matter though.. enjoy
@13shadylady13 No, actually he explains in an interview that it really has no meaning whatsoever, it's just a made up word that rolls off the tongue and matches with the catchy drum beats... later on, since he was asked so much about the meaning, he had to tack on some forced meaning about how it's a girl.
@MrAnimeviewer2000 yea i figured it didn't mean anything but i was just curious. i always hear the song at lifetime fitness and its stuck in my head for the rest of day at least
But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word..'Artist'..This is sussudio, a great great song, personal favorite..*cue fucked up sex scene*
I wasn't born in the era of good music but my parents raised to me to listen to the good stuff.I found Phil Collins on my own.I thank God I did find him, because it would be horrifying living with just today's music.
@Kalebeans i feel the same way, couldnt agree with you more! can imagine listening to this so called modern top music. not really a fan of new music it sounds all alike
Why do I remember when these songs from the 1980's were originally hits or near hits instead of being brought here by some more current day movie or TV show? I know, it must be because I'm 48 years old! Yeah, that's more than likely it.
Dear friend, if you want to listen to this song again as well as an endless number of love songs I suggest you visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - look for the URL in Google (search Musica para Mimos). Greatest romantic hits of all times!!!
American Psycho is the greatest novel ever written. I really wish they would do an UNRATED version that follows the book EXACTLY. Even if it has to be 9 hours like lord of the rings.
It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Christy, take off your robe. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. Sabrina, remove your dress.
I killed Paul Allen with an axe in the face, his body is dissolving in a bathtub in Hell's Kitchen..... American physco was a sick movie, this song brought me here
