  • macbook pro are better

  • I agree with you that a macbook air is more form than function, it certainly is. I suppose its similar to arguing that a Prada bag isn't worth 20 times the price of a regular bag that 'gets the same job done', it's a pointless argument, because that's not what people buy it for. The fact that you can get better performance for the same amount of money is an obvious point, so I don't know why you're spending so much time making it.

Hands down reasons against the air would be the overheating etc

  • whats the point u retard . god u look ike a right fag . u r a bad xample of a man . still i feel sorry for u

  • i feel sorry for YOU

  • or you know, you could buy a laptop for $500 with a 2.4 Ghz processor, 2 GB of RAM, 500 GB HD (idk how many RPMs the one i'm thinking of has), and a DVD drive and install mac OSX

(i dont like OS X but I guess the stubborn fanboys can have that if they really want)

btw, Solid State Hard Drives have no moving parts. They are a lot faster...but yeah, Mac Book airs ARE a huge rip off.

  • Well, Solid State Disks READ faster, but actually write slower.

  • macbook air looks cool but its overpriced when has a slow processer and hardly any storage

  • Did you just summarize his video in a comment?

  • lol think my buddys gettin' one heh

  • lol think my buddys gettin' one heh

  • Blah blah blah blah lol love you babe <3

  • Yeah I think that's friggin ridiculous.

  • Heya,

Firstly - I respect your opinion, yet I don't really agree with you.

The computer isn't made for being your only computer. The usb problem: This computer is ment to be wireless. With the latest n technology it's more than enough (with wireless equip) to backup to an external machine or using time capsule.

  • Personally I have a thinkpad without firewire, and frankly, I've never used it. Not have I used the audio in, PCMCIA and so on. The only inputs I use is the usb port. It's ment to be ultraportable, and to achieve that you can't have all sorts of inputs.

Also it's a mac - you pay for the design and the work put down in reducing the size so much as they have.

Bottom line - if you're looking for a desktop and size and weight don't matter to you this computer isn't for you.

  • In my oppinion the multitouch is the future, by the way. Crapbox, hah. For those who got enough money and are on the run, this is a very, very nice choice. Compared to Lenovo touchpads, it's not even bad priced.

(Hdd things: 4200 is quite low for a processor. It should have 5400 or more. SSD is solid state with no moveable pieces. This means it gets the files instantly. It's a new, great technology, but not worth the price yet.)

And no, I'm no fanboy, I don't even have a mac.

  • They also could have added more inputs. At least ONE USB PORT. I mean if someone pays $1899 CAD for something when you could get more value for $1249 from the same company with more opportunities for later upgrade.. and let's not forget Macbook is only 1.06" thick.. It's stupid to buy Macbook Air. Macbook Air weighs 3 lbs. Macbook weighs 5. That's not a big difference at all.

    Macbooks are already ultraportable.

  • It has so much LESS features than the other macbooks. The other macbooks recieve all wi-fi signals, not just n...

  • "Built-in AirPort Extreme Wi-Fi wireless networking (based on IEEE 802.11n draft specification); IEEE 802.11a/b/g compatible"

  • Agree dude ^^

  • The previous Macbooks are just as wireless, they simply don't have the remote disc function, but they don't need it because they have optical drives.

Multitouch is nice but you don't really need it.

  • USB: Yes, that is indeed one weakness. For those who are on the run it wont matter since they'll use bluetooth anyway.

Weight: The macbook weights 66% more than the air. For a desktop it's no big deal at all, but for someone carrying it around it matters.

Alot of things are nice yet not needed. :-)

Creds to you for actually coming with worthy argumentation compared to others "it just sucks".

Whats your source for n not getting previous versions?

  • What if I have a CD I want to import to my iPod. I don't want to have to constantly switch devices. In my opinion having 1 USB port is a HUGE weakness. Basically takes it off the market for a lot of people. Many devices do not have bluetooth still..

  • As mentioned before, the computer is for someone on the run, and that's what you're paying for. It's not a normal laptop - it's an ultraportable one. You pay more for that.

It's a great product if you compare it to the competition (Witch is NOT a macbook pro)
