Thanks to the bloodyminded tactics of that nasty little imported irish mick, Alan Joyce, he has destroyed QANTAS' standing as a first-rate o'seas air-carrier. Joyce happily accepts a 71% pay rise, but simultaneously he fights to the death against a payrise applic'n of only a few percent, by the 3 unions on behalf of their long-suffering workers. The hypocrisy of parties like Joyce, the QANTAS Board, & Abbott, Truss & Reith, is horrifying.
@colindominy long suffering workers my arse! Qantas baggage handlers are paid 85 grand a year, and they want more to break people's baggage. Good on Joyce for sticking to the unions. It's funny how unions are happy to hold a company to ransom, and cause shut downs and delays, but when the company called them out they cry foul.
@jarviss64 Joyce loves throwing figures around. He made the public believe he paid all his pilots 300k+ but that was just the salary of the fleet training managers (of which there is 4).
No doubt the ramp supervisors are on 85k but the bag chuckers earn $19 an hour. Research the facts before you blindly drink the koolaid.
@colindominy Joyce took Aer Lingus into having to take a bailout after being one of the most highly profitable trans-Atlantic Airlines and was one of the blokes to collapse Ansett. The guy is a joke.
1) Australia must be returned to native people,2)aboriginal language must be included as an official language and studied at schools, 3)the flag must be changed representing the true meaning of Australia,4)the truth about illegitimate existence of British Crown since Cook's arrival must be revealed and aboriginal ownership must be fully recognised and sealed,5)QEII must be removed from coins and banknotes,
6)life penalty must be applied for damages caused to aboriginal people by BritGovnt/Crown
the last time I flew Qantaaaas international the seats were so dirty that I could not consider it again unless. BA just as bad. Good old days which I feel too young to say.
